I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) who completed a Master’s in Social Work at the University of Washington and a Bachelor’s in Marketing at Boston College. In between undergraduate and graduate studies, I served one year in the Jesuit Volunteer Corps as a Social Worker for people without homes and five years as a high school Campus Minister. Since completing graduate school, I worked as a family therapist at Navos/Seattle Children’s Home for 3 years, helping families of children exhibiting behavioral challenges who were repeatedly disciplined in the juvenile justice system. Prior to starting my private practice, I was a therapist at the Harborview Abuse & Trauma Center for 8 years, where I provided therapy to trauma survivors. I opened Recalibrate Therapy, PLLC in 2019, eager to start my own business, achieve greater work-life balance, and continue the work I love. I treasure the opportunity to engage directly and deeply with clients to help them meet their goals. I am honored to learn about their diverse histories, amazed by their resilience, and impressed by their determination to change for the better. I approach therapy humbly, listening first, and exploring clients’ concerns, goals, strengths, and history. Together, we collaborate to prioritize treatment goals and determine a strategic plan to meet them. As we work together, I strive to be curious, compassionate, hopeful, non-judgmental, aware of potential biases associated with my social identities (race, gender, class, sexual orientation, spirituality, age, ability, etc.), and good humored. My approach draws on Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT proficiency in: Cognitive Processing Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, Behavioral Activation, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy- PCIT, Triple P for parenting, & Multi-Systemic Therapy- MST), Psychodynamic, Humanistic, Social-Ecological, Social-Justice, and Mindfulness principles. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, snowboarding, playing lawn sports, coaching my two young daughters’ soccer and basketball teams, listening to music, cheering for Seattle sports teams, and walking my dog.
