American Indian and Alaska Native people experience grave cancer-related disparities both nationally and in Washington State. They also face barriers in accessing cancer treatment that can result in later stage diagnosis, more complications, and worse prognosis.
INROADS (Increasing Native Radiation Oncology Access: Disparities & Solutions) a research collaboration between Washington State University & the University of Washington is hoping to understand and address barriers to accessing cancer care, specifically radiation treatment for American Indian and Alaska Native communities in Washington.
INROADS is inviting three groups of folks to participate in a 30-minute survey to help with their research: American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) patients with a cancer diagnosis where radiation therapy was/is a treatment option, radiation oncology providers, professionals, and staff who work with AI/AN patients, and referring providers, professionals, and staff that refer AI/AN patients to outside cancer care.
See flyer for information on how to get in touch with our research team, if this applies to you. A great opportunity to give back to our Native community and help improve cancer care.
