Sydney Bale MS, L.Ac, EAMP Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine Welcome! I am excited to finally be opening my practice in the Seattle area.

This page is intended to aid and inform those seeking Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal therapy as an alternative/adjunctive treatment to current western medical practices. And to provide information regarding the many benefits Traditional Chinese Medicine has to offer in our everyday lives. Following completion of my Masters in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine through Bastyr University, an externship through the University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Chengdu, China, and a two year mentorship with Dr. Jing Liu and Dr. Shi XueMin in Scottsdale, AZ, I am thrilled to be back home to share my knowledge and skills with my community. Soon I will share my practice location, hours of operation, insurance coverage, and booking. Thanks for checking out my page and stay tuned!!

The Tao is the way❤️

The ubiquitous yin-yang symbol holds its roots in Taoism/Daoism, a Chinese religion and philosophy. The yin, the dark swirl, is associated with shadows, femininity, and the trough of a wave; the yang, the light swirl, represents brightness, passion and growth. John Bellaimey explains why we all cont…

Some great research here demonstrating acupuncture's effectiveness in assisting the treatment of cerebral vascular disorders.
While in Arizona, I had the opportunity to shadow Dr. Shi Xue-Min, one of the leaders in the development of this research. The 'Xing Nao Kai Qiao' method of acupuncture-developed by Dr. Shi to treat post-stroke hemiplegia has also been found effective in the treatment of other neurological disorders including epilepsy, Parkinson's, Tourette's, insomnia and depression.

Acupuncture treats dementia and cognitive impairment successfully and the research shows that long needle retention times for scalp acupuncture points is important.

Why do we cup?
Cupping relieves muscle tension and reduces pain by warming and promoting the free flow of Qi and Blood through the body. Low back, hip, shoulder, and neck pain can be treated with cupping.
And oh, how good it feels!
Cupping can also be used to reduce the severity of respiratory issues such as cough and asthma, as well as some premenstrual symptoms such as cramping and bloating.
By exploring alternative methods of pain relief we strengthen our body's natural ability to heal and deepen our understanding of ourselves in the process. It's a win-win.

'The continuum of illness and health is a manifestation of the continuum between confusion and clarity, and going from ill health to getting well involves growth and change. Often it is your pain or illness which guides you through the door of discovery and gets you in tune with your inner self. Becoming aware of past and current habits of carrying tension, and productive self-expression all seem to be essential in restoring your well-being'
