In Blog 187 I reflect on our recent 2-day family backpacking trip to Cascade Pass and Basin Creek Campground. Doubtful Falls and our beautiful little creek-side camping spot, along with ripe berries and ethereal photo opps from smoky air, all contributed to a gem of a trip and memories that we'll look back on for years.

Discover how letting go of expectations led to solitude, family connection and unexpected beauty at Basin Creek Campground and Doubtful Falls.

https://thriveclues.com/pivot-toward-wonder-how-to.../ Blog 186 shares my experience with recent visits to the Washington State Fair, the Coast, and my husband's superhuman efforts to obtain a backpacking permit in the North Cascades National Park. I realize I'm closer than ever to experiencing real-time pivots when things don't go as planned -- and appreciating the wonders on the alternate paths we DO get to experience on this path called LIFE.

Life rarely goes as planned. From fair ribbons to trail permits, here’s how I learned to pivot from disappointment to joy by embracing change.

Independence Day weekend seemed like a great time to reflect on four years of blogging, set against a backdrop of photos from six hikes over twelve days.

Blog post 180 is longer than usual. It's a 3,000-word look at how four years of blogging, hiking, and leading have shaped the way I see movement, nature, writing, and change. It’s part memoir, part field guide, part love letter to change. Scroll to what speaks to you or savor each section slowly. I did while writing it. Enjoy.

This personal essay is a 3,000-word look at how four years of blogging, hiking, and leading have shaped how I see nature, movement, and life.

During the past two weeks of whirlwind activity, what stands out in hundreds of photos and five hikes are those vulnerable moments that one might not post photos of. Read more about Courtenay Schurman's top five set against a backdrop of photos worth sharing from a CHS-2 hike to Pratt Lake, a stroll along the Jackson Park Golf Course with two dogs, and a hike up Mt. Si from the Teneriffe Trailhead.

During two weeks of high accomplishments, what stand out most are vulnerable moments that never make it into photographs.
