So what does Courage have to do with the changing of the seasons? One of the primary emotions associated with the Lung and Large Intestine systems, the organs associated with this time of year in Chinese Medicine, is grief. But the positive aspects of this system include Courage, and Inspiration. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Traditionally, one might think of courage as just going all out, disregarding all fear and diving forward. But I think courage can have deeper meaning. The courage to care. The courage to nurture ourselves. The courage to express what we need. The courage to give ourselves and our bodies what we need. Not necessarily “pressing on” or “being strong,” but being strong enough to say, I need a pause. I need some time to integrate. I need some gentleness.⠀

We are here for you as gentle care givers to give your body and mind a safe space to rest and unwind. Schedule your appointment online through the link in our profile, or give us a call at 253-242-3661.

Depression can often be the result of physical symptoms, not just a “mood disorder”. Each week in my clinic, I help people with physical issues that can affect their mental health. Some of the common conditions that can contribute to depression include: digestive issues, hormone imbalances, PMS or PMDD, infertility, asthma, IBS/ IBD, chronic pain, autoimmune conditions, and systemic inflammation.
If you are experiencing depression, it may not be all in your head. It may be in your gut, your muscles, your lungs, your hormones.

And, no judgment here – if western pharmaceuticals help your depression, that’s great! If you could use some help in rounding out their efficacy, we are here for you to look at the big picture of what could help ease your depression.

Let’s get you feeling better. Call 253-242-3661 or click the link in our bio to schedule online today.

Want a quick way to feel better?

Breathe.

Deep breathing helps clear and strengthen the lungs. Take deep breaths as you’re driving or commuting; it’s an easy way to boost your lungs and calm your nervous system in a short time period. Breathe deeply into your belly, inhaling through your nose, and exhale fully through your mouth. If you’re tired, make the exhale a little longer than the inhale.

There you go. More energy. Fresh perspective. Better flow. All with breath. Struggling to regulate your breath because you're holding tension in your shoulders, chest, and/or abdomen? We can help.

Acupuncture enhances a deep sense of wellbeing and relaxation, and I’ve never had anyone get a treatment and NOT breathe more deeply during and after the treatment.

This IS stress relief.

Leaky Gut is the root of so many other health conditions, but it is often overlooked as other symptoms are chased.

Leaky gut may play a role in fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, brain fog, food allergies, asthma, autoimmune conditions–even mental health. And let’s not forget stomach aches, bloating, and generally feeling “crappy”.

Digestive health is the cornerstone of ALL health in Chinese Medicine, and we would LOVE to help you feel better about your digestion.

We often see symptoms of Leaky Gut in our patients that say “nobody knows what’s wrong with me, but I don’t feel good”--in my body or mind.

Our all natural approach to addressing the symptoms associated with Leaky Gut has been refined over thousands of years. Bloating, fatigue, chronic pain, and depression don’t have to be your daily reality.

Inflammation can often show up as pain.

Fibromyalgia is a disease of chronic pain, and it has been posited that the pain can be attributed to emotional inflammation, though that’s certainly not the only cause.

Did you know that Chinese medicine specializes in bringing the body, mind, and spirit into balance, which may help to reduce pain sensation and inflammation? It is the original integrative medicine model.

By addressing the body, mind and spirit, healing can happen at the deepest level. And that includes mulitfactorial health concerns like fibromyalgia. If you or someone you know suffers from fibromyalgia, we would love to help.
