I've been reading Dr. Gordon's recent book, Transformation, when I can. He offers some simple, direct useful techniques for working with stressful times and past traumas (the small daily challenges as well as the big, life altering ones). I learned about some upcoming online free seminars. He has one coming up on Friday that is available to stream anytime from 11am - 5pm PST.
