SOL Yoga

SOL Yoga SOL is a Power Vinyasa Yoga Studio. From SOL Vinyasa, Slow Flow, Vinyasa 1+, Vinyasa 2+ and Restore Sol (n) Latin Sōl: Sun.

A self-luminous heavenly body

Sol Yoga is a neighborhood studio that specializes in Power Vinyasa Yoga. Our teachers each have a minimum RYT certification of 200 hours to ensure a safe and effective class for all levels of practitioners. In Power Vinyasa Yoga, we pair breath (pranayama), movement (asana) and heat (tapas) in a demanding and athletic practice designed to leave you feeling sweaty, strong and free of stress. Each teacher brings their own sequencing and music to each class to add a unique touch. The Power Vinyasa style has universal appeal because it is accessible, yet challenging, to each person in the room. Although we sweat and work hard, every pose can be modified to challenge both beginners and advanced yogis alike. You come as you are and work with what you have. The end result is feeling a sense of accomplishment, gratitude for your physical ability and mental clarity. Sol Yoga is a warm, inviting and community-centered studio that is committed to improve the practice of every person who walks in the door. We sit on the beautiful western shore of Lake Washington in the Leschi Lakecenter adjacent to the Leschi marina. We maintain a 90 degree climate controlled studio, provide rental mats, towels, water and more free parking than we could ever use!

These are the places stress likes to settle in and make itself at home.

What if going upside down wasn’t about being strong enough or flexible enough — but just about learning how to do it safely?

November 1st from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Lisa Black is teaching Foundations of Inversions, and it’s designed for exactly where you are right now. No inversion experience needed. No prerequisites. Just curiosity and a willingness to try.

We’ll start with proper warm-ups and prep work, then explore how to use the wall for support as you build confidence. From there, Lisa will guide you through tripod, handstand, forearm balance, headstand, and shoulder stand — breaking down each one so it actually makes sense in your body.

Already practicing inversions? Lisa will share variations to help you refine and take things further.

Her approach is clear, supportive, and rooted in keeping you safe while having fun with it.

All levels welcome.

“Drop in” isn’t just about showing up without a reservation.

It’s about dropping into your body. Dropping the expectations. Dropping whatever you carried in with you at the door.

At SOL, you don’t need to be flexible, experienced, or have it all figured out. You just need to show up as you are.
We’ll take care of the rest — the space, the warmth, the guidance. You bring yourself, and that’s more than enough.

So yes, drop in anytime. But know that what we really mean is: you belong here, exactly as you are.
Catch the glow — only available for a limited time!

Your breath is the fastest way to tell your nervous system it's safe.

When you're stressed, your breath gets shallow and quick — stuck up in your chest. Your body reads that as a signal to stay on alert.

But when you slow down and deepen your breath? Everything starts to shift. Your heart rate settles. Your mind quiets. That tight feeling in your shoulders begins to soften.

This is why we come back to the breath again and again in class. It's not just something to focus on while you move — it's the tool that helps you regulate, reset, and come back home to yourself.
You don't need a mat or a class to practice. Just a moment, whenever you need it.

Breathe in for four. Hold for four. Out for six. Repeat.
