For many families, dogs are more than pets—they’re comfort, companions, and part of the family. When Sarah came to WithinReach, her two dogs, Sparks and Scout, were at the center of her journey.

Our Resource Navigator Jennifer recognized that Sarah’s well-being was tied to her dogs’ health too. She connected her with Doney Coe Pet Clinic ensuring Sparks and Scout received the care they needed.

This National Dog Day, we’re reminded that progress isn’t always one giant leap. Sometimes, it’s found in a tail wag, a sigh of relief, or simply the feeling of being truly seen. 💜

University of Washington research shows Seattle’s Fresh Bucks is an effective health intervention — and smart policy 🍎

The study found that Fresh Bucks households experience 31% higher food security and eat fruits & veggies 37% more often. These results mean real progress in reducing risks of diabetes, heart problems, and more.

At WithinReach, we see the importance of food access programs like this every day. While Fresh Bucks serves Seattle families, our Resource Navigators support families across Washington state in understanding their household’s eligibility and applying for Basic Food, ensuring more people can access the nutritious foods they need. 💜

💜 Did you know? Apple Health — Washington’s Medicaid program — offers a special benefit for children and youth (ages 0–20) that makes sure young people get the care they need.

📞 Not sure who is eligible or how to get started? Call the Help Me Grow Washington Hotline at 1-800-322-2588. Our friendly, knowledgeable staff can help you understand and apply for health insurance that fits your needs and budget.

We’re certified Navigators through the Washington State Health Benefit Exchange — our help is free, confidential, and available in your preferred language.

Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic, and Treatment (EPSDT) is the Apple Health (Medicaid) comprehensive health care benefit for individuals under the age of 21.

The purpose of this program is to ensure children and adolescents age birth up to 21 receive appropriate preventive, dental, mental health, developmental, and specialty services.
