We have been awfully lucky to have such good weather even late into September. The residents enjoyed a beautiful day at the Ballard Locks. It is always amazing to watch the locks raise and lower the water level for boats passing through. Oddly, there were no salmon in the fish ladder even though the time when they return for spawning is May through November. Richard joked that the seals ate them all before they made it to the ladder!

On September 11, it was so rewarding to bring a chili and cornbread muffin lunch to our local firefighters! We visited fire stations in Admiral Heights, Delridge, down the street on Hudson and our fire station just a couple blocks away. They were all surprised and the residents loved getting to visit with them. We are so thankful for our first responders and all they do to keep us safe every day.
