If you have been thinking of taking a Power Vinyasa class mid-day, join Jeremy on the mat on Fridays at 12 p.m. The best way to end your work week or simply take a break from your day. A little bit about Jeremy on his teaching style 🧘🏼‍♂️ “It involves a lot of exploration of alignment and philosophy, and creative and “fun” sequencing that not only builds physical strength and mobility, but explores the range of sensations, feelings and emotions that we as humans can experience. I wish to empower my students by passing on my own knowledge so that they may learn to be masters of their own bodies, minds and journeys in life. In my view there is value in all types of practice and no one “right way” to do anything, so my style ebbs and flows and transitions like the seasons.” 🧎🏼‍♂️Book your spot ahead!

Please help us welcome our newest member to the staff, Vonnai taking the role as one of our Customer Relations staff. Vonnai was first a member then decided to join our staff. By day, Vonnai is the Morning Reporter at The Seattle Times, where she covers breaking news, general assignment tidbits and anything with a little bit of fun. If you’d like to learn about memberships, yoga classes, or our yoga retreats Vonnai would be the one to chat with. We’re thrilled to have Vonnai - say HI next time you are in.

Get to know Vonnai:
Why I decided to work at DRIFT post day job: DRIFT quickly became a second home to me when I began practicing at the studio a few years ago. I love connecting and nurturing relationships with people, so working the front desk in a space close to my heart felt and still feels like a perfect fit!

Fun fact: In my free time, you can almost always find me shopping for anything vintage or eating through every Seattle neighborhood.

Adding on...we’re thrilled to add another class time for Alexis. Come join her on the mat starting Monday, Feb. 19th for Vinyasa at noon.

My teaching style: My classes are fun and engaging. I use analogies from modern life. I want yoga to be as accessible as possible. I encourage students to lean into any discomfort. With anything you try for the first time, you’re going to feel a little lost. Embrace that. There’s nothing wrong with that.

Catch Alexis weekly classes:
🧘‍♀️Monday at 12 noon
🧎‍♀️Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
📿Thursday at 7 a.m. // no music - have you practiced without music? It’s beautiful first thing in the morning just listening to the natural sounds that come through. Give it a try.

Let’s talk about the magic of hand assists in yoga! There’s something truly beautiful about the gentle guidance and support offered through these hands-on adjustments. From refining alignment to deepening stretches, hand assists help us connect more deeply with our practice.
🧘‍♀️They’re not just about physical alignment but also about creating a sense of trust and connection between teacher and student, or between friends in a partner practice. Through these subtle touches, we’re reminded that we’re not alone on this journey – there’s someone there to support us every step of the way.
🧘‍♀️So next time you feel those hands gently guiding you deeper into a pose, take a moment to appreciate the beauty and power of this ancient practice, appreciate that moment from the yoga teacher or practice partner.

the Crown Chakra // This week, our classes center around the mystical energy of the seventh chakra - the Crown Chakra, Sahasrara. Located at the crown of the head (top of the head), Sahasrara connects us to the universe, connecting us to our higher selves. In our practice, we’ll explore the benefits of aligning with this energy center. When we focus on balancing and activating the Crown Chakra in asanas, such as headstands or mountain pose, we invite clarity, spiritual connection, and a sense of purpose into our lives. Being on the crown of the head in an asana allows energy to flow freely, for a deep sense of presence and inner peace.
Join us the rest of the week as we journey inward, harnessing the power of the Crown Chakra to elevate our practice and awaken to the boundless possibilities of the universe. Sign up and reserve your fave spot to practice on.

Help us WELCOME Kathy to our teaching staff! We’re excited to have Kathy who will be teaching on Thursdays at 12 noon // Vinyasa. Kathy received her 200-hr teacher certificate in 2015 and has been teaching since. Read on about Kathy. Meet her on the mat for a mid-day break! *please register ahead.

“I have been practicing yoga since 2003 after my first daughter was born. I found yoga as a gentle way to get in shape after pregnancy. While I continued to practice, I discovered that yoga was much more than a way to get in shape. Once my second daughter was born, yoga was a way for me to relax, connect with my Self and find my center. Yoga continues to help me stay grounded and is a wonderful compliment to my love of running and hiking.”

Why I teach yoga // “My goal as a yoga teacher is to share my love and passion with anyone that is interested. Whether you have been practicing for years or just getting started, yoga is the union of body movement and breath and I believe it is for EveryBody.”
