Research shows that children make faster, more lasting progress in speech therapy when parents actively participate. That's why we offer a Parent Coaching Program! How does it work? Our certified speech-language pathologists use evidence-based methods tailored specifically to your child’s needs and your family’s lifestyle:

• Interactive coaching sessions provide personalized guidance on using effective speech and language strategies.
• Real-life application techniques and strategies fit into your natural daily activities and interactions.
• Regular check-ins provide continuous support and adjustments to strategies as your child progresses.

The goal is to equip you with the knowledge and confidence to seamlessly integrate supportive communication practices into your family’s daily routines.

Motivation looks different for every kid. This client created a fantastic visual for trying to “hit the bullseye” with "R" sounds. While some sounds might be challenging, we do our best to make the learning experience as fun as possible! 🎯

A few FAQs for anyone who thinks their child might benefit from speech therapy:

✨ How do I get started?
• Complete our inquiry form online or email us to set up a 15-minute consultation call. After you have completed the inquiry form, we will reach back out to you with a therapist who best fits your needs and preferences.
• Schedule an evaluation and complete intake forms.
• Start your speech therapy journey!

✨ Where does speech therapy take place?
• We provide a variety of different treatment settings, including our clinic space, virtual, your home, and or community settings such as your child’s school or daycare.

✨ How often can my child have speech therapy?
• The frequency of sessions is dependent on your child’s needs and is determined case by case. However, we typically provide sessions 1-3 times per week for each child we treat.

✨ Do you accept insurance?
• We accept Premera insurance and are considered an in-network provider for Premera. For all other insurance companies, we are considered an out-of-network provider, and families pay directly after each session. Many families we work with can bill their insurance themselves using the invoice we provide.

Finding the right support for your child can feel overwhelming. Hearing that a family felt comfortable, cared for, and confident in their experience means the world to us. That’s always what we’re aiming for... not just progress, but a space where families feel at ease.

Sometimes you need to LEAP before you LEARN! Here, a child tells her doll to “leap” over the obstacle course to get to the playhouse. This game is one creative way that Natalie targets accurate production of “L” in a play-based, child-led format. Hot tip for at home practice: it doesn’t always need to be in a sit down and drill situation. Come up with functional target words with your child’s SLP and use them in everyday play to activiate a toy, stuffy, or their parent!

Andrea's St. Paddy's Day craft activity doubled as practice in following directions, sequencing, cause-and-effect, describing, R & L sounds (rainbow, leprechaun), and even SL clusters (sliding down). Play-based therapy works like a lucky charm! 🍀

Language has a lot of jobs. Kids use words to ask, protest, joke, explain, get attention, problem-solve... and so much more. When those different purposes are hard to access, communication can break down in ways that feel frustrating for everyone involved. That's where speech therapy comes in! Head to our website swansonspeechtherapy.com to learn more.

Articulation disorders occur when children struggle to produce specific speech sounds, affecting clarity and intelligibility.

Phonological disorders involve difficulties in recognizing and organizing sound patterns, making speech hard to understand despite correct articulation in isolation. An example of this is a child that is able to accurately say the sound “s” but says “tame” for “same”.

Early identification and targeted intervention can significantly improve your child’s communication skills.
