GLP1 medications have a very interesting effect on pain. they can help lessen or dull the sensations of pain signals coming into the body. coupled with the anti-inflammatory effects of these medications, it makes for an excellent arthritis treatment.

what are the immune effects of the GLPs? there are many but a lot of it has to do with macrophage differentiation. macrophages are the immune systems way of destroying stuff, but they can also repair it. GLP1s can actually improve the macrophages ability to go into a repair phase instead of a destruction phase, which makes it more anti-inflammatory

Ive spent the last several weeks putting together data on how GLP-1 medications are impacting inflammation. In short, these popular drugs are possible treatments for inflammatory conditions like rheumatoid arthritis and IBD. here's an overview of the recent research, but more videos to come on how these meds are directly impacting our immune system.

HLAs (human leukocyte antigens) are genetic markers for ways in which your immune system can present foreign antigens to T cells.

having an HLA doesnt mean you'll develop the disease that its associated with. it just means that, in the presence of certain antigens, those HLAs MIGHT trigger that disease. so having them increases your risk but doesnt mean you have a disease.

progesterone and progestins are not the same thing. progesterone is very anti-inflammatory and progestins can actually increase inflammation.

What is happening with health insurance!? Are there any regulations with health insurance anymore??

If i want to know ow if EBV is causing inflammation, here are the steps I go by to do that.

first is testing. then treatment. then monitoring the testing in response to the treatment

12/14/2025

Testing for EBV is challenging. If there are IgM antibodies then its a recent infection, or less likely, a reactivation. IgG antibodies are for past infections and reactivation, but you cant differentiate between those. PCR testing is good for active infections, including reactivation, but only if systemic and not in the tissues only.

12/14/2025

EBV is a herpes virus, which means it can hang out in out body forever once it takes up residency. This doesnt mean it will always cause problems. It has to become reactivated, or cause inflammation in a certain area of the body to cause problems.

But reactivation doesnt always have to happen. Its usually triggered by something else. Like another virus (COVID), or stress

12/14/2025

EBV causes our B Cells to produce antibodies. And in those with genetic predisposition, that might also trigger antibodies that can cause autoimmune diseases like Lupus
