Treating acute and chronic issues takes assessment, analysis, observation, and a diverse skill set that can be flexible in its applications. Grateful to always have and learn different options to meet the needs that are unique to each and every client I see.

Sharing a little bit of fun at work. Using the suburito! It's always a good time when I get to combine martial arts and therapeutic exercises for optimal recovery!
Side note let me know if this video cuts off! The full version is on YouTube

So, Stick with me on this one:
The other day I saw an ad from this place: threads of the universe. They had a futuristic version of the Suburito available on their site which looked really cool but was crazy expensive and no guarantee it could hold up to continued impact. Which then led me down a rabbit hole of wondering what the hell a Suburito even was. Turns out, it  is a heavy wooden training sword used in Japanese martial arts to build strength, improve technique, and develop proper body mechanics through solo swinging drills. I had never seen anybody use it before or practice with it but I liked how it looked and now I became curious. So a quick Google search later and I found a few companies that make it and sell it and I figure practicing with this will improve many facets of my empty hand training as well as my weapons training. Plus I love the way it looks! This one came from and I love it! 45 in long, 3 and 1/2 lb to simulate the weight of a katana. Highly durable with the polyprophylene material. I'm very excited to practice more with this I don't know why but this feels like a very suitable training tool/weapon for me to practice with.
Sorry, being a martial arts dork At the moment 😁

Over the years have had a lot of different ways that I tried to subtly incorporate my personality and passions into my workspace. Oddly enough this is probably some of the most subtle work I've done in a long time. Lol I didn't realize it until I'd actually took these photos what was in them haha. See you at the next visit!

Not only am I the president but I'm also a client lol If you know you know.
I am always very serious when it comes to recovery and taking care of injuries when it comes to sport competition especially for Martial artists. This was taken in 2016 while in South Africa. One of my teammates wife happens to be a massage therapist and graciously took care of me while I was out there.
This is why I will always advocate for a massage therapist to be a part of the US martial arts team and why I also take so many courses to elevate my own practice so that I can help combat sports athletes, and athletes in general as well as acute and chronic pain patients wherever I am. To my athletes. I care because I understand.

Had a great day. Had a few prospects working out for their tryouts and returning team members as well putting in that work I didn't realize I kept them an hour longer than I expected to haha. But today was a good day for expectations to be set. Looking forward to the next team training in February!

As I was making this post, I realized I have an awful lot to say with regards to the subject matter. And I realized it would be a long ass post, so maybe one day I'll make a video about it instead. Egotistically, I would like to joke that I am a trendsetter. At the very least, I think some of my feelings manifest into reality, and I'm glad to see it when it comes to martial arts and competition. I wonder what kind of shirts I'll make this year..
