Established in 1982, PBHJP works to improve the health and well-being of children, families, and adults served by the mental health, chemical dependency, child welfare, and justice systems. Division of Public Behavioral Health and Justice Policy (PBHJP) is a component of The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at The University of Washington School of Medicine. The Washington Institute for Mental Health Research and Training (WIMHRT) and The Washington State Children’s Evidence Based Practice Institute (EBPI) are both major programs managed by PBHJP.

Dr. Maria Monroe-DeVita of PBHJP, along with Dr. Mike McDonell of WSU, will be leading a training Implementation and Evaluation of the first ever Washington State DBHR-funded First Episode Psychosis pilot in Yakima, WA through Central Washington Comprehensive Mental Health.
