K9 Ruben, a loyal narcotics detection dog with the Chelan County Sheriffโs Office and the Columbia River Drug Task Force, has been diagnosed with cancer. This devastating news came suddenly, followed by emergency surgery that resulted in the loss of his front right leg.
Despite the pain and uncertainty, Ruben is recovering with courage, strength, and that same determined spirit he showed while protecting our community for nearly a decade.
Rubenโs next steps include:
๐พ A critical oncology consultation at Washington State University
๐พ A six-week chemotherapy regimen at Cascade Veterinary Clinic
๐พ Physical therapy, hydrotherapy, and recovery tools to help him adjust to life on three legs
