In Sanskrit, Sangha means community. I first heard this word while on retreat in India almost a decade ago. The word grew roots deep in my heart, opening up an unshakeable desire to create a space for students to explore the deeper meaning of yoga. Taking over Suite 10 felt like our destiny, like our dharma.
Saying yes laid way to a beautiful period of creativity and manifestation. Suite 10 has a magic that helped us feel inspired and energized during our beginnings in the space. The community built by the previous owner was and remains devoted and invested to the practice. We thank you for the unforgettable experiences that came during Sangha’s birth: we will hold them in our hearts forever.
Early 2020 felt like we were inches away from summiting the mountain that all our hard work had brought us to. An optimism for the future washed over us, one shared by all small business owners who have made it through the trials of those early years. Then of course came Covid: a turn of events no one could have imagined, and one that tore us away from our stable footing as a business and as individuals–as it did to countless others throughout the world.
Quickly, we shifted the way we provided yoga, grateful to safely support our teachers and students during a very real and devastating crisis. We showed up, adjusting to a new norm in the midst of extreme discomfort and suffocating uncertainty. We are filled with pride for our amazing teachers and staff, who shared in our anxiety and who showed up with strength and care. We are also continuously inspired by our student body for their resilience and vulnerability in the midst of so much change.
The ups and downs of the past nearly three years have tested us in ways we couldn’t have imagined. There were things lost during the pandemic that, despite putting our heart and soul into recapturing, we are unable to bring back. Sangha was a beautiful space–we hoped it would be alive and abundant for many more years. We are grieving its end and we are asking for your support as we transition to our new reality, one without our beloved Sangha.
