Dr. Andrew Simon is co-founder of Rebel Med NW in Seattle, along with his wife Dr. Phonexay Lala Simon, LAc. Rebel Med NW is a mind-body medicine focused primary care clinic, where Dr. Simon and his team at Rebel Med NW have developed a mental health focused primary care clinic in the heart of Ballard, winning Seattle Met Top Doctor for the last 7 years running. Having provided Covid-19 Vaccines, testing & treatment options, Dr. Simon was nominated to join the Power of Providers Group, as a Naturopathic representative to the Department of Health where he regularly converses with others of the allied health field regarding the recent covid pandemic, and other public health concerns that affect all providers of WA state. Additionally, he has been an adjunct faculty clinical supervisor at Bastyr University for the last 10 years.

Proud of the work of fellow team members at Washington State Department of Health and other members. The Covid-19 Pandemic has been a whirlwind of never ending challenges for the healthcare system, patients, and providers alike. I am excited to be a part of the Power of Providers group which is an inclusive, integrative, and collaborative working group that advises public health policy. With the emphasis of protecting all population groups of people in the state of Washington.
The inclusive nature of this group means that Naturopathic medicine has a seat at the table to advocate for Naturopathic Primary Care, nutrition, mind body medicine, Physical Medicine, & evidence based treatments that impact the health and wellness of our communities. The team at Rebel Med NW was able to provide thousands of vaccines at the height of the pandemic, testing, and now excels at treating and other COVID-19 sequela with truly integrative approaches. This work impacts future generations of naturopathic medicine students Bastyr University where I supervise and teach at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health

Dr. Andrew Simon is a naturopathic physician and adjunct professor at Bastyr University in Seattle, where he supervises student clinicians at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health. He runs a small clinical office and is a valued member of POP’s Advisory Group. As a POP Advisor, Dr. Simon volunteered his time to collaborate with the Department of Health (DOH) and UW Medicine to develop a clinical training and education proposal to address Long COVID treatment gaps in Washington. In his Provider Spotlight, Dr. Simon shares some powerful strategies for building trust and a sense of safety with patients.

A main component of treating mental health Rebel Med NW we are seeing a great response to treating GI Dysbiosis or microbiome imbalance with mind body medicine and psychobiotics, probiotics researched to affect mental health and the Gut Brain axis.

Calliope Holingue researches how the microbiome and mind affect each other. She's part of a growing field, exploring how that connection could ultimately improve treatments for mental conditions.
