Existential therapy is mostly focused on how human beings find meaning in the face of sometimes harsh and inescapable realities of life. I help individuals cope with mechanisms that will help find ways to make different choices and re-invent ourselves; so we then become the architect, the planner and the builder of our lives, throughout our lives. I use a variety of techniques in therapy while trying to fit what I do with what works for you. These are likely to include dialogue, interpretation, cognitive restructuring, reframing, relaxation techniques, visualization, gestalt awareness experiments, self-monitoring exercises, bibliotherapy, exploring family of origin, attachment, systems theory, multicultural frameworks, and oppression awareness. One of the most important things to remember is the therapeutic relationship is like a team, and I will walk beside you every step of the way. Understanding how the world around us relates to our very existence is vital to the progress we make. I am also a Multicultural Educator and facilitate workshops and presentations that deal with undoing multiple oppression at various organizations and schools. Let me help your department or organization understand how to work better in harmony and with each other in a more productive way.
