Downtown Seattle YMCA The Y: We’re for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility At the Y, strengthening community is our cause.

We work side-by-side with our neighbors throughout King and south Snohomish counties to help kids and families thrive – and to apply their positive behaviors at home, school, the workplace and beyond.

Our Annual Fund Drive is coming soon! 💙

For 150 years, the Y has helped our community belong, grow, and thrive. This year’s Annual Fund Drive helps local kids learn to swim, build confidence through youth sports, offer wellness tools and connection, connect families to healthy meals, and ensure all neighbors can participate in YMCA programs.

This moment captures our Y staff and community last Friday showing up for kids — reminding us that Community is powered by all of us.

This weekend, we’re asking you to take action. Your gift today directly supports Youth Sports at the Y, ensuring every child has access to safe spaces to play, build confidence, and feel a sense of belonging -- no matter their family’s circumstances.

Whether this NFL Sunday you’re cheering for the Seattle Seahawks or the Los Angeles Rams , join us by giving now and help keep kids active, connected, and thriving all year long.

This weekend’s NFC Championship has us thinking about more than football.

As Seattle and LA face off, the YMCA of Greater Seattle and the YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles are leaning into what we do best — community, connection, and a little friendly competition.

Our CEO, Loria Yeadon, has officially issued a Y vs. Y challenge with real stakes, real fun, and a real purpose: shining a light on how sports support youth development, belonging, and confidence for kids across our communities. Want to support our work?

Cheer for your team. Rep your city. And take a moment to learn how the Y — alongside partners like the NFL — uses sports to create positive outcomes for youth all year long.
Game on. 🏈

Starting kindergarten this year? It’s a big step for kids and families.

As we welcome 2026, we also step into a major milestone year for the YMCA of Greater Seattle: our 150th year of service to community. Throughout the year, we will be celebrating 150 Years for All by inviting our community to reflect on where we have been and help shape what comes next through the stories and partnerships that move our mission forward.

In her New Year Message, President and CEO Loria Yeadon introduces “150 Reasons Y,” an invitation to reflect on the many ways the Y supports youth, families, and neighbors, and to help inspire what comes next. Read the full message on our website, join the celebration, and be part of what comes next.
