Most of us think healing means โ€œfixingโ€ yourself. But what if healing is about growing awareness of your patterns and embracing the messiness of being human?

Do you often feel pressure to do things perfectly? Or dread making decisions for fear of choosing wrong or being judged? If this sounds familiar, you might have a perfectionist part.

Perfectionism often develops when mistakes didnโ€™t feel safe. Itโ€™s a part trying to protect you from criticism, shame, or feeling like youโ€™re never โ€œgood enough.โ€

This pattern protects you while also keeping you stuck.

I spent years thinking I was too sensitive or too much. It turns out, I was living in survival mode.

Getting my CPTSD diagnosis at 29 was the first time things finally made sense. I learned that my struggles were actually trauma responses.

I put together a free ๐—–๐—ฃ๐—ง๐—ฆ๐—— ๐Ÿญ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿญ ๐—š๐˜‚๐—ถ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ. Youโ€™ll find answers to common questions about what CPTSD is and what healing can look like. Itโ€™s what I wish I had when I was trying to make sense of my own experience.

Do you often find yourself managing, fixing, or stepping in before anyone even asks? If so, you might have an overfunctioner part.

This part didnโ€™t show up out of nowhere. It learned that depending on others wasnโ€™t safe and staying in control created stability.

But over time, that comes at a cost, requiring you to carry more than your share, and causing burnout or resentment, while wondering why no one shows up for you the way you show up for them.

๐Ÿ’ฌComment โ€œseenโ€ if this resonated.

Do you often say yes when you want to say no, and feel resentful later? If so, you might have an activated people-pleaser part.

This isnโ€™t a personality flaw. Itโ€™s a protector part that learned to be agreeable and low-maintenance in order to stay connected and safe.

But over time, that protection comes at a cost, requiring you to shrink your own needs to keep relationships intact.
