Hello friends and community members,
I have two openings for my weekly Mondays 915-1045am group starting August 11th. I will be away and will respond to inquiries after July 27th. It’s a Somatic Psychotherapy group for Healers-- therapists, bodyworkers, coaches, doctors, nurses, midwives, etc.
This group is for healers wanting to integrate their somatic training into their work but first want to experience somatics personally. It is a personal therapy group that deeply supports exploration of self and other tracking/receiving, nervous system regulation, proximity, contact, consent, and more. We increase ability to orient and respond in embodied ways to present place and time as well as relationally to each other. Any touch or movement experiments operate in a dynamic, relational approach to consent, honoring changing needs from moment to moment. “No” moments are a gift we give ourselves and each other to find authentic Yes moments. The group is explicitly non-sexual and non-sensual for safety. The group supports exploring identity, relationships with family and friends, work life, health, etc, and also is a place to expand professional capacity with somatic skills. This group started two plus years ago. Members say it has been transformational personally and professionally.
My work is informed by decades-long experience in dance, movement and somatic mindfulness practices and studies, especially Somatic Experiencing (my main frame), Contact Improvisation Dance, Hakomi, Authentic Movement, Five Rhythms/Open Floor, and 23 years of leading groups.
Logistics: weekly meetings Mondays 915-1045am, $100 per meeting in a home office in Sebastopol where cats visit (allergies won't work here.) Commitment required for first two months/8 meetings. Because I can’t reschedule a different person to fill a missed meeting, I ask members to pay half fee for any missed meetings. After the 8 month commitment if new members continue, they get two freebie late cancelations/no shows per year.
