We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Randall Hrabko, MD.

Dr. Hrabko was a valued member of our dermatology team from 2008 to 2024, bringing exceptional care to our West County community as well as the Lake County community. A highly skilled Mohs surgeon, he was known not only for his expertise, but for his compassion, kindness, and dedication to truly listening to his patients. He took great pride in providing thoughtful, personalized care to everyone he served.

His impact on our patients, our team, and the community will not be forgotten.

A celebration of life is being planned and will be announced at a later date.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He will be missed!

MARCH IS EYE SAFETY AWARENESS MONTH! Nearly 20,000 eye injuries occur in the workplace each year and often require one or more missed work days for recovery. These injuries range from simple eye strain to severe trauma that can cause permanent eye damage or vision loss.

The most important thing you can do to protect your vision at work is to always wear appropriate protective eyewear. This can prevent more than 90% of serious eye injuries.

When an eye injury occurs - seek medical attention immediately to help reduce the chance of permanent vision loss.

February is Age-Related Macular Degeneration Awareness Month. Throughout February, the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) encourages senior adults to learn more about AMD as a serious degenerative eye disease that can cause irreversible vision loss or blindness if left untreated. The AAO has outlined both preventive practices to reduce risk of developing AMD, as well as key points of awareness related to the subtle, often easy-to-miss signs when this disease develops. GLAUCOMA IS THE SILENT THIEF OF SIGHT!

Glaucoma is a group of eye conditions that damage the optic nerve. The optic nerve sends visual information from your eye to your brain and is vital for good vision. Damage to the optic nerve is often related to high pressure in your eye. But glaucoma can happen even with normal eye pressure.

Glaucoma can occur at any age but is more common in older adults. It is one of the leading causes of blindness for people over the age of 60.

Many forms of glaucoma have no warning signs. The effect is so gradual that you may not notice a change in vision until the condition is in its later stages.

It's important to have regular eye exams that include measurements of your eye pressure. If glaucoma is recognized early, vision loss can be slowed or prevented. If you have glaucoma, you'll need treatment or monitoring for the rest of your life.
