Hello Everyone,

Here's a topic we at the pharmacy level do not concentrate on and I think because many of our patients are at or just past child-bearing years. Nonetheless, I'm sharing this post from the CDC because whether it's our own children, grandchildren, nieces or nephews it's all the same - sharing about what's good for the body, mind and soul.

And remember protect your eyes when viewing it.

4. National Girls & Women in Sports Day (2/7)
Join the Women’s Sports Foundation in celebrating National Girls & Women’s in Sports Day on February 7. Show support by exploring the amazing work of the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness & Nutrition and learn about the influential women on the Council who are making a difference in their communities.

Hi Everyone for the month of October there are 4 National Health Observances:

1. Health Literacy Month
Every October, we celebrate Health Literacy Month to highlight the important role health literacy plays in improving health for people in the United States. Start by exploring Healthy People 2030’s Health Literacy literature summary to find definitions of health literacy and browse related objectives and evidence-based resources.

2. National Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Finding early is key to successful treatment. That’s why every October, we come together to raise awareness about the disease and to encourage people to get tested.

3. National Youth Sports Week (October 2-7)
During the week of October 2–7, we observe National Youth Sports Week to celebrate the positive impact of sports on young people’s physical and mental health.

4. National Latinx AIDS Awareness Day October 15
It’s an opportunity to shine a light on the disproportionate impact of HIV and AIDS on Hispanic/Latinx communities — and to address HIV stigma.

eYE On Health June National Health Observances
For the month of June there are 3 NHO's:
1. Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month
Each June, Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month is recognized as a time to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.
2, World Sickle Cell Day (6/19)
World Sickle Cell Day is observed each year on June 19 to increase the public’s knowledge about sickle cell disease.
3. National HIV Testing Day (6/27)
HIV.gov recognizes National HIV Testing Day on June 27 to highlight the importance of HIV testing. This year’s theme is Take the Test & Take the Next Step – a reminder for everyone to know their HIV status and take steps to stay healthy.

I realize these NHO's are coming out late but I believe all three need recognition and to raise awareness.
