Ralph Louis Moriarty, 83, of Sedalia, MO, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 27, 2024, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. He was born on March 18, 1941, in Sedalia, the son of Thomas Michael Moriarty and Agnes L. (Velten) Moriarty, who preceded him in death.
Ralph grew up on the family farm south of Sedalia and attended Sacred Heart School, graduating in 1959. He began his career as an electrician working with local contractors before enrolling in the apprenticeship program for Local Union 124 in Kansas City. He remained a proud, working member for 43 years. Ralph also served his country honorably in the Missouri Army National Guard.
On November 6, 1965, Ralph married the love of his life, Peggy D. Paxson, in Sedalia. Introduced by a mutual friend, the two quickly formed a bond that led to nearly 59 years of devoted marriage. Peggy survives him in their home.
Ralph had a deep passion for classic cars and was a proud member of both the WCMVAC and Mid-America Street Rods Car Club. He and his family shared countless memories attending car shows together. His prize possession was his all original 1950 Ford Convertible that he bought from his brother Pat when he was eighteen. He was also a dedicated member of the Sedalia Elks Lodge BPOE #125. Beyond his love for classic cars, Ralph enjoyed tending his garden, particularly his prized tomatoes, and took great pride in keeping his lawn meticulously maintained.

Rest well, beloved husband, father, and Papa.

Clyde Russell Rotramel

Clyde Russell Rotramel, 71, of Smithton, MO, passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at his home. He was born on October 10, 1953, in Humansville, MO, the son of Azel Rotramel and Ethel (Russell) Rotramel, who preceded him in death.

On May 4, 1996, in Sedalia, MO, in the left turn lane of Highway 50 in front of Double D express, he was united in marriage to Candy J. Spears, who resides in the home.

Clyde served his country honorably in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He worked at Gardner-Denver in General Maintenance. Clyde enjoyed traveling the country with his wife, Candy, on his motorcycle. He enjoyed going to the beach. Clyde found comfort in the outdoors, fishing, feeding the deer, hunting, bird watching and admiring the B-2 Stealth Bombers flying over his home. Clyde had a talent of turning vacant land into a scenic and tranquil place to retire.

Clyde was a unique soul who had an extraordinary gift for transforming the mundane into the magnificent. His keen eye for beauty allowed him to see potential where others saw only flaws. Whether it was in his garden, his home, or the lives of those around him, Uncle Clyde had a remarkable ability to turn the ugly into something beautiful.

Clyde was not just an artist of the physical world; he was also a master of relationships. He had a way of making everyone feel special, valued, and understood. He offered a listening ear and a warm smile, creating a safe haven for family and friends to share their joys and sorrows.

As we gather to celebrate his life, we remember the countless memories we shared with him, the lessons he taught us about resilience and beauty, and the love that he poured into every moment. Clyde showed us that retirement is not merely a time to rest but an opportunity to cultivate beauty in every corner of our lives.

Though he may no longer be with us, his spirit will forever inspire us to find the beauty in our own lives and to cherish the moments we have. Rest in peace, dear Uncle Clyde. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

In addition to his wife, Clyde is survived by a step son Travis Key of Smithton, two nephews, Weldon Clyde Rotramel (Kristy) of Brighton, MO and Allen Carl Rotramel of Bolivar, MO; two grandsons Trenton Rotramel (Samantha) and Xavier Key; a granddaughter, Tiara Williams, a great-grandson, Liam Rotramel and a great-granddaughter, Allura Williams; a sister-in-law, Vicki Rotramel; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
