Originally founded in 1860 as a railroad town, Sedalia has grown substantially, but still keeps ties to its small town roots. Sedalia is home to the 3rd largest State Fairgrounds in the United States and offers activities year round for residents and visitors to enjoy. Music fan? Every year, the Scott Joplin Festival kicks off the summer in Sedalia and brings crowds from all over the area. Sedalia is rich in culture with local shops, quaint restaurants and historical markers.
