Dimension of Wellness:
Activity: Resident & Staff Annual Halloween Trick or Trunk.
Story: Halloween is one of our fall events that we enjoy connecting with the children and families. On this brisk fall night, we had 10 of our residents that joined our staff supported annual Trick or Trunk at Pleasant Valley. This year we had 145 trick or treaters of all ages. Residents passed out crayons, color books, flavored lip balm, hocus pocus hand lotion, bendable pencils, mini flashlights and candy. Our managers & families decorated and passed out candy.
Fond memories of the past & present was made.

Activity: Residents counting tabs for charity
Story: Our residents enjoy Cocktails and decided to have a dual purpose “Collecting tabs for Charity” We currently have a contest going for guessing the number of tabs and asking everyone to bring us tabs. Our goal is to fill the water jug completely and the pass on to our Therapy Department. Winner will receive a Countertop Air Purifier. Can you guess how many the residents have collected to date!?!

Activity: Generations Connecting after school program.
Story: —We are helping build a community where every generation is valued. Residents look forward to being able to mentor with the weekly after school visits rather than the focus of being a care recipient. We are in hopes that when school is out that the children will want to be a part of the adopt a grandparent program and continue with the bond that has been built.

Activity: Dollar Bingo & Wednesday Cocktail Hour
Story: Residents favorite night time activity Dollar Bingo. Keith was the lucky Jackpot winner. Weekly Cocktail hour brings residents out to enjoy relationships, friendship’s, interacting with staff, dancing & just letting us unwind for a short time. Donna & Gary share memories and reflect on music they have enjoyed during marriage of 35 years. Willadean “96 “enjoys dancing all the way to cocktails. Abbey (CMA) enjoys teaching new moves

A year has passed since we lost our Administrator Kathryn Hatten, but their laughter, wisdom, and unwavering support remains vivid in our memories. Kathryn was more than a coworker she was a friend, a mentor, and a light at Pleasant Valley. We honor her legacy and cherish the moments we shared with Kathryn

Story: Our elders can share wisdom that children don't yet have. Children can learn a lot from their elders, including things that have happened in history Similarly, children can share new technology, a youthful point of view on current events, and so much more. The afterschool program has been a weekly highlight for our residents.
