Deeply embedded in each of us is the longing for peace and for home. When hearts break, both individually and collectively, because we see the suffering and pain of the world so clearly in front of us, it’s hard not to feel helpless and overwhelmed by the weight of it all.
But through yoga, meditation, prayer, and service, we remember we are not powerless. When we are present, tend to our own hearts, keep our nervous system clear, help others in the ways we can, and stay established in our center, we build the strength needed to navigate painful and uncertain times.
In these moments, many of us can feel the ground shifting beneath us. So many people are deeply suffering. There is real pain and heartache. And yet, despite how complicated our world and our troubles may be, our practice can become our anchor.
Our practice teaches us to rest in inner fullness and in trust. Not because everything on the outside is resolved, but because we recognize an inner Divine order, an ultimate Reality, that is always already present.
Through practice and meditation, our thinking begins to clarify, which shapes how we listen, act, and choose. As we take on more patience, kindness, generosity, and forgiveness, our life experiences reflect these qualities back to us. Healing the world begins with tending to ourselves. Whatever good we bring forth grows from the understanding of our own true nature.
