What if weight loss isn’t the goal… and never was? 🤔

We’ve been taught to measure health by the number on the scale—but it doesn’t tell the full story. In this episode, Dr. Jenna Blasi breaks down why weight loss ≠ metabolic health—and what actually matters.

✨ In this episode:
• Body composition over weight
• Muscle = metabolic health
• Key health markers to watch
• Where GLP-1s fit in

💡 It’s time to redefine progress.

🎧 Tune in to Episode 67 to learn what truly supports long-term, sustainable health.

🗣️ “The scale tells us how much the body weighs. It does not tell us how the body is working.”

Your heart doesn’t just respond to movement and nutrition — it responds to your emotions.
When stress activates the fight-or-flight response, your heart rate rises, blood vessels constrict, and your body shifts into protection mode. In short bursts, that’s normal. But when stress becomes chronic, that constant activation can begin to affect recovery, inflammation, and long-term cardiovascular health.

Recovery is just as biological as stress. When the nervous system shifts into rest-and-repair, heart rhythm stabilizes, variability improves, and the body rebuilds resilience.

This is where HRV becomes powerful. It reflects how well your nervous system moves between stress and recovery. And that balance is deeply connected to heart health, especially during midlife and hormonal transitions.

Emotional health is not separate from physical health. It is part of it.

Why does inflammation feel louder after 40?
Because multiple systems begin shifting at the same time.
Estrogen becomes less predictable.
Stress accumulates.
Blood sugar becomes less forgiving.
Individually, these changes may feel subtle. Together, they amplify inflammatory signals — joint stiffness, belly fat, brain fog, slower recovery, bloating.
Your body isn’t breaking down.
It’s recalibrating.
Midlife isn’t decline. It’s a strategy shift.
Save this if your body feels different lately.

Strength training isn’t just about tone or aesthetics.
It’s one of the most powerful anti-inflammatory tools available in midlife.
Muscle is metabolically active tissue. That means it directly influences how efficiently your body uses glucose, regulates insulin, and manages inflammatory signaling. The more muscle you preserve, the better your body handles blood sugar — and unstable blood sugar is a major driver of inflammatory stress.
After 40, we naturally begin losing muscle mass if we’re not actively challenging it. That loss affects metabolism, bone density, joint stability, and recovery.
Strategic resistance training helps reverse that trajectory.
Not extreme.
Not punishing.
Consistent and progressive.
When you lift, you’re not just building strength — you’re protecting your metabolism and calming inflammatory load.
Ready to lift strategically?
