My daughter Corrin Kalinich and her colleague Lisa Ackerman are the instructors and will be teaching out of their kitchens. “I’m tired of making the same meals, and I just need some fresh inspiration.” If that’s you, I want to share something that feels a little extra special to me.

My daughter (a Registered Dietitian) and her RD colleague are hosting a live Nourish & Flourish virtual cooking class, and it’s such a simple, supportive way to reset your routine.

What moves me to move? Setting a goal, like a 10K race, and sharing that goal/dream with family and friends who encourage and support me. There were 4000 participants at the RunSedona race, and I saw people of all ages accomplishing their goal together. I loved seeing families and friends together on the road and bystanders cheering everyone on so that we all crossed the finish line. Thanks to "my village" for being by my side as I accomplished my goal after being away from the running community for 11 years.

I appreciate this thorough review of saturated fats and unsaturated fats. I will not fear fats but be mindful of how I consume them. I will keep my saturated fat intake low and focus on consuming more whole food sources of polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats. When choosing seed oils, I favor avocado oil for high-heat cooking and extra virgin olive oil for preparing homemade salad dressings.

My 2-year-old granddaughter spent the morning immersed in nature with her parents picking (and taste-testing) fresh strawberries and cherries straight from the source. Seeing these photos reminds me how deeply nourishing it is to connect with our food in this way.

There is nothing like growing your own food! I am not a master gardener by any stretch of the imagination. So when I harvest food that came from a small packet of seeds, I celebrate 🙌.
