Setting healthy records at 80!

🚨 Betty Kellenberger has officially set a new milestone by becoming the oldest woman to thru-hike the Appalachian Trail at the age of 80.

On September 12, she reached the end of her journey, securing her place in history. Before her, the women’s age record was held by Linda “Nana” Vanderloop, who completed the trail at 74 just the year before. Interestingly, much like Vanderloop, Kellenberger never stepped onto the trail with the intention of chasing a record. “The record wasn’t on my mind. I was almost finished before people started asking my age and suggesting I might be setting one,” she explained.

For Kellenberger, this accomplishment was rooted in something far deeper than recognition—it was the fulfillment of a lifelong dream. From the time she was a child, she imagined what it would be like to hike the entire Appalachian Trail, and decades later, she finally made that dream a reality.
