For the final day of February, our Executive Team shares the 🩷 behind our work: YOU!
As a community-created organization, the health & wellbeing of the people we serve is at the center of everything we do πŸ’ž

Fun Fact: Ted Brockmann, Carol Hawk, and Mary Voss (United General District 304's Executive Team) have each been with our organization for more than 25 years.

Why our work matters: The Executive Team creates systems, secures resources, addresses challenges, and collaborates with partners every day so we can fulfill our purpose as a public hospital district. Their leadership, as well as that of our five elected commissioners, allows us to be excellent stewards of assets & opportunities, which is how we're able to provide 50+ programs!

What a great program Concrete Farm to School Program is!

Program Coordinator Margo Heffron shares the 🩷 behind our work:
I love helping kids make connections to where their food comes from and teaching them the confidence they need to cook for themselves and be self-sufficient through Farm to School.

Favorite part of the workday: When the students arrive and they have all the excitement in the world to cook/garden. Their energy is contagious!

Fun Fact: Almost every subject in school can be taught in the garden or kitchen classroom.

Why our work matters: We get to impact people's health upstream through prevention and by working together for positive, solution-oriented change. So much of what we do is focused on enhancing strengths, which I get to experience all the time working with students and community members in Concrete πŸ“
