🚨 Statement from Life Care Center of Skagit Valley 12/15/25 at 1:37 p.m.:

The safety of our residents is our utmost priority. We evacuated our residents last week due to heavy rains. The imminent flooding concern has been resolved, and our building has been cleared to move residents back in. We have begun returning our residents today, and our hope is to have everyone back in our building by tomorrow afternoon.

Thank you to everyone who has assisted our residents, from our dedicated associates to our host facilities and regional team! We are thankful that our building has been spared and that we can continue serving our seniors right here in Sedro-Woolley.

🚨 Statement from Life Care Center of Skagit Valley 12/11/25 at 9:41 a.m.:

The safety of our residents is our utmost priority. Due to heavy rains, the flooding Skagit River, and the high water table, Life Care Center of Skagit Valley was evacuated yesterday evening. Residents were safely relocated to Life Care Center of Mount Vernon, The Bridge at Mount Vernon, and other Life Care facilities in the Seattle area. We are in touch with our residents’ responsible parties regarding their loved ones.

Thank you again to everyone who has assisted our residents and associates with this event and who has prayed for them. We are waiting to hear about the status of the facility and will continue to post updates on this page.

Statement from Life Care Center of Skagit Valley 12/10/25 at 7:02 p.m.:

The safety of our residents is our utmost priority. With flood warnings in effect for Skagit County and rising water levels close to our center, we are following the authorities’ evacuation orders. We have contacted our residents’ responsible parties and are relocating our residents to safe areas, including our sister Life Care communities in the Mount Vernon area.

We want to thank our staff members and local support agencies for their assistance with this process, as well as for the staff at our host communities for helping us continue to care for our residents’ needs.

We will continue to post updates on this page. Thank you for your patience and support of our residents, staff, and the wider Sedro-Woolley community.

On December 6th, our management team took on the rain and wind to participate in the annual Sedro Woolley Christmas Parade to help kick off the holiday season! 🌟 It was a lot of fun seeing all the screaming kiddos interacting with the Grinch. We are very lucky to be apart of such an amazing community. We are already looking forward to next year. ❤️💚

🥳 Our staff and residents recently gathered to celebrate an amazing milestone: Miss Betty turned 103 years old! We observed the occasion with pizza, cookies and cake to go along with the '50s themed party. 🍕

We are looking forward to celebrating 104. 😉

We would like to give great gratitude to Shannon and her team at our sister facility, The Bridge at Mount Vernon Assisted Living. 🫶 With the news of the unexpected (and minor) fire last Wednesday, Shannon and some of her team took time out of their day to come check in, offer a helping hand and bring lunch for our staff. Thank you Shannon and the the team at The Bridge Mount Vernon! 👏

After a stroke affected her mobility, Patricia came to us determined to meet her therapy goals. And she did! During her program, she worked hard to regain her ability to stand, walk, and care for herself so she could return home.

Congratulations, Patricia! 🎉

Statement Regarding Life Care Center of Skagit Valley Bathroom Fire (11/19/25)

Last night, Life Care Center of Skagit Valley experienced a small fire in one of our bathrooms in a non-resident area. No residents or associates were injured, and the fire remained contained in the bathroom until it was put out.

Our staff followed our fire plan, and the Sedro-Woolley Fire Department responded quickly and determined the fire was caused by an electrical fan. The damage is being assessed. The area will be repaired, and we are taking measures to prevent future incidents.

We are grateful for the quick response of our staff and local authorities and are continuing to care for our residents as normal.
