[Español abajo] DSHS’s has updated the Gross Income guidelines for Basic Food effective April 1st, 2024 until March 31st, 2025. In order to qualify, your household, aka anyone eligible who you share or prepare food with, will need to make at or below the total gross (before taxes) income listed.
If you are already on Basic Food and your income has changed, update DSHS (call 1-877-501-2233) before the 10th of the following month. If your income decreased, you may be eligible for more benefits. If income increased above the threshold and you’re still using your EBT card, you may have to pay back benefits you no longer qualify for.

There is a common misconception around Basic Food “households” that we are going to demystify.
Typically, people think of their household as the people who they live with. But for your Basic Food application, it might not always be the case. You only want to include people who will be sharing, cooking, and eating food together in your Basic Food “household” to receive benefits for those people. If you live with people you don’t share groceries with, like roommates, you should still list them on the application, but you will check the box that says, “exclude from benefits.” If you don’t qualify for benefits, but your children or dependents do, you can still apply on behalf of those people – just make sure you exclude yourself from benefits.

The Healthy Youth Survey provides crucial information to school officials, health professionals, human service agencies, policymakers, and parents as they work together to ensure the optimum health of young people across the state. Thank you to all schools and students in Skagit who contribute to this important knowledge base 🙌

Today, Concrete students in grades 6-12 participated in the Healthy Youth Survey (HYS). This survey is conducted every two years in Washington State and includes over 200,000+ students. HYS is a comprehensive and confidential tool that allows our community's youth to share their perspectives on wellbeing, school climate, and community connections. The data collected from this survey is essential for the Concrete Resource Coalition and helps evaluate programs and ensures we are meeting the needs of our children, teens, and families.
