🎥 Post Op Education: What is Fibrosis After Lipo 360?
Fibrosis is a very common part of the healing process after liposuction. It occurs when the body produces excess scar tissue in response to surgery and trauma to the tissues. This can cause areas to feel hard, lumpy, uneven, or tight beneath the skin.
After procedures like Lipo 360, the lymphatic system and soft tissues need time and proper care to heal. Without proper post operative treatment, scar tissue can build up and create those hardened areas.
✨ What causes fibrosis?
• Surgical trauma to the tissue
• Inflammation during healing
• Fluid retention
• Lack of proper post op massage
• Inconsistent compression garment use
• Improper garment sizing
💆♀️ How do we treat it?
Post operative lymphatic drainage, targeted fibrosis massage techniques, and sometimes tools like wood therapy can help soften scar tissue, improve circulation, and support proper healing.
📸 About this client’s progress:
You may notice some wrinkling around the navel area. This is not uncommon and is often related to the compression garment being too large or not fitting properly. Compression garments play a huge role in shaping and supporting the healing tissues.
My client is currently ordering a properly sized garment, which will help improve compression and allow the skin to smooth out as healing continues.
Every body heals differently, but with consistent post op care and the right compression, we can significantly improve fibrosis and help the body heal more evenly.
✨ Healing is a process and progress takes time.
