Hello we’re the Marrocco family and every year we put on a dazzling Christmas light show in Selden. It usually takes us a little over a month to put everything up, but a about a year to put the whole show together. We usually start in the off season building new props and buying new light for the upcoming year. The first week of October is usually when we start putting that vision up on our house
and work hard all the way right before Thanksgiving, when the display will go live for the very first time. It all started when I was a little kid. Christmas is one of my favorite holidays and I would beg my dad to put lights on the house. I just loved how they looked at night and how much joy in brought to our family. After years have passed and I got older I started helping my dad put the lights on the house to now which I do it all myself with the help of family and friends. Each year I try to add something new to give the display a different look and throughout the years I've been getting so many nice compliments on how the display looks by all my neighbors and we really appreciate it. We also do it for a great cause. All money donated will go towards St. Jude's Children Hospital, Suffolk County Make-A-Wish Foundation and The Andrew Rosa Foundation. The Light display will be turned on Thanksgiving Night and it will run till New Years from 5p.m to 11p.m. The Light display is timed perfectly to the best Christmas music out there today. It takes me at least 3 months to program the songs which is all ran by a computer system call Light-O-Rama. Simply tune to 107.3 F.M. when you come by the display to hear the music in your cars. This year there are 256 computerized channels that will run the show. Also enjoy the show as you can walk around the display. Their are 2 speakers outside on the lawn so people can still hear the music. We hope everyone enjoys the display and we would like to wish everyone Happy Holidays and a healthy and safe New Years from our family to yours.
