Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, Sellersville, PA

Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, Sellersville, PA The Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home is observing its 69th year of business in Sellersville. The funeral home is under the ownership of James D. C. Mrs.

Since 1948, the Steeley Funeral Home has been owned and operated by one family. Steeley, funeral director and son of the late Betty Meier Steeley. Jim is the family’s third generation to become a licensed Pennsylvania funeral director. The funeral home was established by Albert E. Meier, Jim’s late grandfather, in 1948. A year later, Albert’s daughter Betty became licensed, creating the area’s first father-daughter team of funeral directors. In the early 1950’s Betty’s brother, the late George A. Meier, also became a licensed funeral director. In 1978, Betty acquired ownership of the business upon her father’s death. One of the first women to become a licensed funeral director in Pennsylvania, she was the first woman president of the Eastern Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association (EPFDA). Steeley operated the funeral home until 2000, when Jim, who had worked closely with his mother for many years, purchased the business. Today, Jim and his wife Marty are committed to continue the Steeley Family tradition of distinctive, supportive service established by his grandfather, mother, and uncle.

Some souls leave too soon, yet their love echoes in every breath, every tear, every quiet moment. They are gone from sight, but never from the heart. 🤍

Honoring all the losses of babies this month, whether they were still in their mother's womb or not long outside of it. This Sunday! A blessing of the animals at St. John's in Sellersville.

The Blessing of the Animals is this Sunday, October 5, at 9:30am & 5pm outdoors! We can't wait to see your furry, feathered, or scaley friends! You can also bring a picture of a pet who would rather stay home, or a stuffed animal. We're extra excited to welcome the Peaceable Kingdom petting zoo back for the 5pm Dinner Church again this year, with all sorts of mystery animals.

Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect after death. Wonderful story of students who are making sure that those whose remains have gone unclaimed, get a proper burial and honoring. Well done, young people!

Catholic Charities of Louisville says its burial program provides services “for individuals in our community who do not have resources or family to provide them.”

this month, we take time to honor ourselves for all of the times we didn’t think we would make it, but we did.
we take time to honor those who are no longer with us, and we learn how to navigate these feelings with grace, love, and compassion.

you are loved beyond measure and you are not alone - celebrate your strength.
