WHAT IS THE WESLEY HOUSE

Furthermore, we recognize the unique challenges faced by individuals transitioning from incarceration back into society. To address this critical phase, our program offers comprehensive reentry support, focusing on job placement, vocational training, and life skills development. By assisting individuals in obtaining gainful employment and providing them with the necessary tools for personal growth, we aim to break down barriers and foster successful reintegration into the community. Beyond recovery and reentry, we firmly believe that a healthy and safe environment focused on community is vital for individuals to thrive and maintain their progress. Our program works diligently to secure stable housing options, partnering with housing agencies and organizations here in Selma committed to providing affordable, secure, and supportive living arrangements. By facilitating access to housing, we create a foundation for stability and a nurturing environment conducive to continued personal growth and well-being. The impact of our program can be measured not only in the lives transformed but also in the ripple effects felt within families and communities. Witnessing individuals break free from addiction, rebuild relationships, and become productive members of society fills us with immense joy and reaffirms the power of compassion, dedication, and support. โœจ Marcus Penn has been appointed as the new Director of The Wesley House program! ๐ŸŽ‰ Marcus has already been living in the house with the men, making him uniquely positioned to lead and grow the program with wisdom and love.โฃ

This transition comes after our previous Director, Matt Hobson, felt the Lord calling him to step away from The Wesley House program to "make room" for new outreach opportunities he's focusing on this year. Mattโ€™s leadership and obedience to God's plan have been a blessing, and weโ€™re excited to see what God will do through him in this next season.โฃ

A Big Win at Wesley House!

Today was cleaning and yard day, and Iโ€™ve got to brag on our menโ€”they absolutely crushed it! They took care of the house and yard like it was their own, and the place looks amazing. But itโ€™s more than just cleaning up; taking care of these natural things really connects to the spiritual work theyโ€™re doing in their own lives.

Being faithful in the little thingsโ€”whether itโ€™s pulling weeds or cleaning roomsโ€”shows the growth happening in their hearts. Now, Wesley House is not only looking great but ready to welcome the next person whoโ€™s searching for a fresh start.

"He who is faithful in a very little thing is faithful also in much." (Luke 16:10)

At Wesley House, we are dedicated to giving men coming out of substance abuse, jail, or difficult situations a chance at a better life. We strive to make our program accessible to everyone, reducing as many burdens as possible to aid in their healing journey. However, we still need to cover our monthly expenses to keep everything running smoothly.

Would you consider sponsoring a man in our house or contributing towards a bill this month? Your support can make a significant difference in the lives of these men.

Rent at Kathryn House (additional transition house): $600
Insurance: $590
Power Bill: $423.84
