Mrs. Fannie Brown, of Selma, AL. gained her heavenly wings on August 2, 2025. Graveside services are to be held Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 11:00 AM at New Live Oak Cemetery.

Ashley Bellard Milhouse, Founder and CEO of AJH Preparatory Academy, LLC, has over 25 years of experience in the funeral industry. Her passion for this field started in childhood when she held ceremonial burials for her dolls. This was an early sign of the calling God had placed on her life.

Despite facing many obstacles, Ashley stayed true to her faith and her purpose. Her dedication to serving the deceased and comforting grieving families has made her a respected leader in the industry.

Ashley’s vision to educate and empower others came from her personal challenges and a wish to stop the cycle of gatekeeping in the profession. Instead of withholding knowledge, she opted to mentor and train people. Many of her mentees now run successful businesses.

Seeing the growing demand among others who share her passion, Ashley plans to continue to expand her efforts through AJH Preparatory Academy. Each time she finishes a training session, she meets more aspiring professionals eager to learn. With joy and gratitude, Ashley is committed to sharing the knowledge and experience she has gained for as long as she can.

Ashley credits her journey and success to the unwavering support and inspiration of her mother, Laura McNeil; her husband, Frank Milhouse; her godmother, Claudia Wright; and her mentors Patricia Tolbert, Carl Bell, and Elijah Rollins.

Mrs. Michelle Mitchell, 52, of Selma, AL. gained her heavenly wings on July 15, 2025. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Greater Mt. Calvary AME Church. Interment will immediately follow at Miller’s Memorial Gardens. The compassionate staff and management of Ashley's J.H. Williams & Sons Funeral Home extend our heartfelt condolences, thoughts, and prayers to the entire Mitchell, Jones, and Sheppard Families.
