We want to acknowledge Peyton Mann as our spotlight for March and also show our appreciation to her for Social Work Month! Peyton has been with Gentiva since June of 2023 and shows absolute dedication to her work and our patients. When asked what she enjoys about hospice, she said, "I enjoy working in hospice because I feel like through my position, I can actively help others with whatever they may need to help process, better understand, or cope during this part of their journey in life. I love being a source of support, guidance, and comfort to patients and their support systems. I love knowing that I can provide a safe space for them to share their feelings, concerns, and needs, that they are valid and understood, and that I will do whatever I can to make this journey comfortable."

Peyton has a Master's in Social Work from Union University. Her favorite sports team is the Tennessee Vols because she was named after Peyton Manning when he played for them in 1955. Her favorite vacation spots include Panama City Beach or the mountains in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. In her spare time, she enjoys going to Church, working out, hiking, and spending time with her family and two dogs.

We want to thank Delaney O'Connell for being our first volunteer at Gentiva Hospice in Bolivar! She is a very caring and friendly person. When asked what she enjoys about working in hospice, she says, "I love getting to help people in a way that benefits them and brings joy to people in difficult times." Delaney is beginning college in the fall and is looking forward to the new experiences college will bring. She loves going to the beach and playing beach volleyball. We look forward to working with Delaney and providing a helping hand to our patients with her help.

We would like to recognize Shelby Wallace as our SPOTLIGHT for February! Shelby has been with Gentiva since November 2020 as our senior patient care manager. We want to thank her for her hard work and dedication to our patients and their families. Shelby is a bright light and friendly smile inside and outside the office. Her favorite part about working in hospice is "getting to be a small part of the patient's journey of comfort and quality of life. We work in what we like to call heaven's waiting room, and there is no greater journey than being present for the patient and family during this transition." Shelby enjoys Diet Coke, loaded teas, Mexican food, pink Starburst, and Reese's eggs! She loves the beach, vacationing, and spending time with her husband and their 3-month-old boy.
