🌟 Blessings of Love Mentoring Program - A Table For All: Community Thanksgiving Dinner 🌟

What an amazing day! Today, I had the privilege of attending the annual A Table For All: Community Thanksgiving Dinner, hosted by Blessings Of Love Mentoring Program. Over 250 participants were blessed with a free hot meal, and the spirit of community was felt by all. It was such a great event!

In addition to the delicious food, the event also featured Mississippi SHINE Project offering health screenings, promoting wellness in the community and JDC Save The Children, who distributed books to kids, helping to spread the joy of reading and learning.

What a beautiful way to support the community! This event was truly a celebration of community, care, and connection.🧡

Knowing the risks can help save lives!

A few mindful choices: watching your blood pressure, staying smoke-free, and knowing your family history, can safeguard the life you’re building and the people you love.

Today, I was deeply honored to be named Community Health Worker of the Year at the Mississippi SHINE Project Fall Conference. This honor touches my heart in a very special way, especially after a year that brought challenges. There were moments that tested me, moments when I had to pause and take care of myself, but coming back to my work reminded me of my purpose and the love I have for my community.

I want to thank my Project Director, George Dixon for everything he does for our project. His unwavering support, leadership, and belief in me mean more than words can express.

I am incredibly proud of all that the MS SHINE Project has accomplished together, and I look forward to continuing to serve, uplift, and advocate for the health and well-being of our community.

🍂 Fall 4 Wellness Health & Resounce Fair 🍂

Today we completed our final stop (1 of 4) in this year’s Fall Into Wellness Resource & Health Fair series! 🙌

We wrapped up the season in Bassfield, MS, serving the residents of Jefferson Davis County. This event brought the community together to provide free health screenings and connect residents with valuable local resources.

We were excited to welcome 105 participants and 15 vendors, all dedicated to promoting health awareness and preventive care. Attendees received blood pressure and glucose checks, wellness education, and community resource information—plus plenty of encouragement to make health a priority!

A heartfelt thank you to all the vendors and community members who joined us throughout the fair, and especially to the students from William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine (WCUCOM) for their help today.

Health and resource fairs like this play a vital role in empowering individuals to take charge of their wellbeing. Together, we’re building stronger, healthier communities!

Late Post…

The West Jasper School District celebrated Red Ribbon Week, and I had the pleasure of partnering with Pamela Prestage-Lang, Project Director of the Mississippi To***co Free Coalition. Together, we set up interactive tables outside the cafeteria and engaged with students in grades 4–12 from Bay Springs Elementary, Junior High, and High School!

My focus was on nutrition education, promoting the 5210 Program to encourage healthy eating habits—especially adding more fruits and vegetables each day. 🥕🍎

Ms. Pam led an informative session on “How Va**ng Affects the Body,” motivating students to make healthy choices and stay vape-free. 💪
