Fire Department is HIRING!!
The Ponca City Fire Department invites you to participate in the exam process on October 21st for the position of Entry Level Firefighter.

Testing will take place at the No. 1 Fire Station located at 500 E. Grand Avenue. The exam process will begin at 9:00am. There will be no admittance after that time. Attendees should park along Grand Avenue (in front of City Hall).

To be eligible to participate in the exam process you must currently hold Emergency Medical Technician certification and/or licensure (as required by the Oklahoma Department of Health EMS Division). In lieu of certification/licensure you may provide proof of current enrollment in EMT coursework. Additionally, a valid driver’s license is required. You must bring your EMT certification/license or coursework enrollment forms, and your driver’s license with you. Documentation will be verified prior to testing.

👩‍🚒We are Hiring!

Today is the day! We will begin accepting applications for the firefighter position today, Monday, September 30, until 5:00 p.m. Friday, October 18, 2024.

The City of Edmond, Oklahoma, has scheduled a hiring process for Firefighters. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, meet all requirements of the Oklahoma Firefighters Pension and Retirement System, possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent, have a valid driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to the City’s insurance carrier, and have no felony convictions. Applicants must pass a written examination, a physical ability/agility test, a background investigation (including a polygraph examination), and the state-required physical examination. All applicants must possess or obtain a minimum certification of a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (EMT-B) within 18 months from the date of hire and maintain certification and approval to operate under the Department’s Medical Director for the duration of employment with the City of Edmond Fire Department. The base salary during the recruit academy is $3724.13 per month. After completing the recruit academy, the base salary will be $6019.61 monthly. Only electronic applications will be accepted from 8:00 a.m. Monday, September 30, 2024, until 5:00 p.m. Friday, October 18, 2024. Guthrie Fire & EMS is currently looking for a couple of part-time paramedics to help with EMS. We would like the part-time medics to work at least 2-4 24-hour shifts a month, depending on availability. We would prefer a paramedic that has at least 1 year of field experience.
