With each day we are more and more concerned not only for ourselves, but for the safety of our immediate families. However, it is much harder for our elder loved ones to prepare on their own for the eventuality of an extended (stay at home) directive and to ensure that they are able to obtain the vital supplies, groceries and home safety products that are needed. Not only during this unprecedented crisis is my company dedicated to assessing the present and pressing needs, but in the longer view dedicated to helping families plan on aging in place in their own homes. If you are concerned about the safety and well-being of your loved ones, now and moving forward, please give Aging Resource Management a call at (727) 403-0773 for a free consultation.

The Psychology of Pandemics
Events of this nature always brings out both the best, and sometimes the worst, in people! Without a doubt, the daily (and sometimes hourly) updates bring with them a psychological toll. Not only just the relentless pounding of the emerging media snippets, but whether you or your family is sufficiently prepared and safe, and largely what the next day will bring. It reminds me of post 911 , without a plane in the sky, eerily silent, but the anticipation of what is next was deafening!

In events like these, it is normal to have increased anxiety, panic, and a host of other conditions characterized by sleep disruption, waking frequently, excessive worrying, a sense of impending doom, to name a few! It takes a lot of courage to recognize and admit that these frightening times are making you feel anxious, angry or confused, and it should be a call to action. Please take care of yourself and talk with others about what you are experiencing, recognizing that this step empowers you to take healthy and appropriate action that is good for your overall well-being.
