Hope Connecting Seminole County

Hope Connecting Seminole County Gateway to Prevention and Recovery has been awarded grant from the Department of Health and Human Services – Health Resources and Services Administration.

The Rural Communities Opioid Response Program (RCORP) is a multi-year initiative that addresses prevention, barriers to treatment for substance use disorder (SUD), including opioid use disorder (OUD) and recovery services in Seminole County. The project service area is Seminole County. The program is called ‘Hope Connecting Seminole County’. This grant is a part of the Rural Communities Opioid Response Program (RCORP). RCORP is a multi-year initiative that addresses barriers to treatment for substance use disorder (SUD), including opioid use disorder (OUD). It works toward the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) goal of ending the opioid epidemic. RCORP is supported through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Federal Office of Rural Health Policy. The Hope Connecting Seminole County Consortium’s approach to meeting the needs of Seminole County will be utilizing shared resources and collaboration to bring community organizations together, resulting in reduced morbidity and mortality associated with SUD/OUD in Seminole County. Gateway staff Claudia Willis (cwillis@gatewaytoprevention.org) and Lisa Cobb (lcobb@gatewaytoprevention.org) will be working on this grant in Seminole County communities.
