🚨 **Big Win for Prehospital Care** 🚨

In this last legislative session, **$10 million** was built into the state budget to create and implement the deployment of **whole blood in the prehospital setting** — a major advancement in trauma care.

We are proud to share that **Seminole EMS** will be one of the EMS agencies in our region (**TSA-B**) selected to implement this lifesaving capability. We are currently working to train our leadership staff on the **operational and logistical requirements**, and in the months ahead **all personnel will participate in clinical training** to safely and effectively deliver this care.

This is an incredible milestone for prehospital medicine. The impact of whole blood in the field is expected to save **as many lives as the implementation of seat belts**. Let that sink in.

Progress like this doesn’t happen overnight — it happens through advocacy, education, and investment in EMS. We are honored to be part of the future of emergency care and excited for what this means for our patients and our community. 💪🚑🩸

🚑 **SEMTVA Monthly Meeting Reminder- February 3, 2026** 🚑

Seminole EMT Volunteer Association (SEMTVA) will be meeting on their **regularly scheduled night** — the **first Tuesday of every month at 7:00 PM** at the **EMS station**.

Seminole EMS and SEMTVA have worked closely together since both organizations were formed. As a **licensed first responder organization**, SEMTVA members step up to help answer calls when call volume exceeds what our full-time staff can manage. They also play a vital role in **fundraising to purchase much-needed equipment** that directly supports patient care.

Most recently, SEMTVA purchased an **upgraded Narcotic Headquarters Box**, allowing for more secure storage of all controlled medications in supply — a significant and much-appreciated improvement.

We are incredibly thankful for SEMTVA’s continued partnership, dedication, and support of our mission. Strong partnerships like this help keep our crews equipped and our community safe. 💙

***Post no longer valid***

Patchy freezing fog will be possible this morning for areas within the highlighted circle. When visibilities get low, take it slow!

🚑 **Training Tuesday** 🚑

Recently, our Shift Captains — **Margie Loewen, Teri French, and K’lee Kent** — attended the **TEEX Leadership Development Symposium in San Marcos**. This conference equipped our newly promoted captains with valuable leadership tools they can immediately apply on the job.

Leadership is not for the faint of heart. It is a skill that must be **refined, challenged, and continuously developed**. We are proud to invest in the growth of our team members and confident that this training will strengthen our organization and the service we provide to our community.

Strong leaders build strong teams — and our future is in good hands. 💪

🚑❄️ Seminole EMS Road Alert ❄️🚑

A LOT of snow melted today — and as temperatures drop tonight, that water is expected to turn into dangerous black ice 🧊

🚨 Roads WILL be slick tonight and in the morning. 🚨

If you have to be out:
👉 Buckle up
👉 Slow it down
👉 Give yourself extra time

Black ice is hard to see and unforgiving. A few extra minutes could prevent a serious crash. Your safety matters to us, and we want everyone to make it home safely.

🚑 We love our neighbors—just not as patients. Drive safe. 💙

Please stay home if possible. Roads are covered in snow with ice underneath. Hazardous road conditions and increased call volume may result in extended response times. We have extra staff available and ready.

🚨 **Severe Winter Weather Preparedness Update** 🚨

Good afternoon! We are currently monitoring an **upcoming severe winter weather event**. This system is rapidly changing, and forecasts remain uncertain regarding precipitation type and amounts. What *is* certain are **dangerously cold temperatures and precipitation**.

⚠️ **Primary concerns include:**

* Temperatures below zero
* Potential for icy and hazardous road conditions
* Possible power outages

Now is the time to prepare. Please ensure you have **drinking water, food, medications, and necessary supplies** in the event of a power outage. We strongly encourage residents to **stay home if possible**. If you must travel, slow down, allow extra time, and have a plan in place should you become stranded.

🚑 **Please remember:** First responders may experience **high call volumes and dangerous road conditions**, which can delay response times. Help us help you by being prepared and limiting travel.

🏠 **Additional reminders:**

* Wrap exposed pipes
* Check on elderly neighbors
* Make arrangements for pets and livestock — temperatures will be **dangerously low**

🩺 **Emergency Preparedness Medical Necessity Form**
This is a good time to remind residents about our **Emergency Preparedness Medical Necessity Form**:

👉 https://cityofseminoletx.org/services/forms-and-applications/community-health/emergency-preparedness-survey/

If you or someone you know relies on **electricity-dependent medical equipment** (oxygen concentrators, home ventilators, home dialysis, etc.), please complete and share this form. By providing this information, we can better **identify and prioritize resource allocation** during power outages when resources are available.

✅ This service is **FREE for all residents of Gaines County**, including **Seagraves and Loop**.

Stay safe, stay warm, and stay prepared. ❄️
