Do any of you recognize this handsome young man??? 😊

For those who may be new to our page, we have been following the journey of our Life Care Family Warrior Colby. He was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia. This rare condition is when the body stops producing enough new blood cells due to bone marrow damage. 🦴

Since March of 2024, he has already had 17 blood transfusions and 2 bone marrow biopsies. He underwent 2 stem cell transplants. The second came from his brother Cameron, and although he doesn't wear a cape (we don't think 😉🦸‍♂️) Cameron's cells took, and Colby has had a turn for the better! He may look different, Ohh who are we kidding? Of course he does! Who would have thought this was the same young man from a year and a half ago?!?

Way to go, Colby! You are such a strong young man and an amazing warrior! 💛 We are so thankful we got to know you and your brother Cameron! Have a wonderful school year, and we will continue to pray for health and healing! 🙏

As we celebrate the start of school for all of our local districts, we want to continue with our Senior Spotlight! 🎓

We are showcasing our wonderful Life Care Family members preparing to spread their wings and start their next adventures! Today's spotlight is our very own Aubrey Schmelzle! Aubrey is a graduate of Sabetha High School, and has been a part of our Life Care family for two years! She is attending K-State and pursing a degree in Event & Hospitality Management and minoring in Business. It has been wonderful to watch you grow into the wonderful young woman you are today. 😄

At the start of another school year we are taking this week to showcase the wonderful Life Care family members who are preparing for their next chapters. 🎓

The Senior Spotlight for today is Emery Schmelzle! Emery is a graduate of Nemaha Central High School and has been a member of our Life Care family for a little under a year. She will be attending Highland Community College finishing her general education courses before transferring to MATC. We are very lucky that she will continue to be a part of our team until she finishes her time at Highland. We'll be cheering you on every step of the way! 😄

Another school year is upon us friends, and we would like to showcase the wonderful Life Care family members who are preparing for their next chapters. 🎓

We will be posting our Senior Spotlights this week, and we would like to start with this beautiful young woman! McKenna is graduate from Sabetha High School, and has been an associate at Life Care for the last two years. She will be attending K-State this fall and majoring in integrative human science/pre-nursing. Good luck, McKenna, and have a wonderful year! 👍

Nemaha County Fair was this past weekend and the annual animal parade was a huge success once again! Just look at all these animals!! Our Community Members look forward to this tradition every year, braving the high temps and humidity to see this wonderful group of kids and their prized animals!! Nemaha County Hospital's Volunteers came to Life Care last week and showed us how to recycle plastic grocery bags into mats for the local homeless shelters. What a job they do! Did you know it takes roughly 30 hours to make one mat? They make roughly 16 mats a year! It is an amazing project they undertake, and we are so very happy they shared all of their techniques and process with us. We are hopeful that we can help do our part to beat their 16-match record so far! If anyone has any bags to donate or would like to know more, feel free to reach out to NVCH volunteer program, or even Life Care to help you get in touch with this amazing team!
