Hey, friends! In honor of Grandparents Day, it's time for our 2nd Annual Have a Scoop with Grandma and Grandpa! We invite any and all family to come out again this year and enjoy ice cream with your loved one! 🍨

We will host it on Monday, September 8th, from 4 - 5 p.m. in our dining room! We can't wait to see you all there! 💗

Please note: Grandparents Day is on Sunday, and the ice cream social is on Monday.

We recently celebrated National Gooey Butter Cake Day! So, of course, we had to try our associates' confetti butter cake! It was as sweet as it was delicious! 😋

Did you know? Gooey butter cake was the result of a mismeasurement of butter 🧈 and flour when a baker was making coffee cake? Instead of tossing the mix, they sold this sugary concoction, and thus.... the gooey butter cake came to be!

At the close of our Senior Spotlight, we want to thank all of our wonderful young adults who have become such a huge part of our Life Care family for all of their hard work and dedication to loving our community members. 💙

We wish you all the best of luck this year and can't wait for you to come back and share your adventures and stories with us! With that being said.... We can't say goodbye to them all without talking about this wonderful young man! William Lueger is a graduate of Nemaha Central, and has been a part of our Life Care team for over a year. The Life Care Community Ladies say he is as handsome as he is charming! 😉

He leaves us at the end of the week to attend Benedictine College. He plans on majoring in Nursing, and then he will be off to medical school! William, we know the sky is the limit for you, and are so excited to see what your future holds! 👍

Do any of you recognize this handsome young man??? 😊

For those who may be new to our page, we have been following the journey of our Life Care Family Warrior Colby. He was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia. This rare condition is when the body stops producing enough new blood cells due to bone marrow damage. 🦴

Since March of 2024, he has already had 17 blood transfusions and 2 bone marrow biopsies. He underwent 2 stem cell transplants. The second came from his brother Cameron, and although he doesn't wear a cape (we don't think 😉🦸‍♂️) Cameron's cells took, and Colby has had a turn for the better! He may look different, Ohh who are we kidding? Of course he does! Who would have thought this was the same young man from a year and a half ago?!?

Way to go, Colby! You are such a strong young man and an amazing warrior! 💛 We are so thankful we got to know you and your brother Cameron! Have a wonderful school year, and we will continue to pray for health and healing! 🙏
