Did you know that about 1.1 million people in the United States are living with Parkinson's disease (PD)? 🌷

🧠 This progressive brain disorder is perhaps most well known for causing tremors, but other symptoms include loss of vocal volume, sleep disruptions, stiffness, and balance issues, among others.

Thankfully, there are ways to improve Parkinson's symptoms! 😀 Our therapy team offers rehabilitation services to help improve mobility, range of motion, function, and speech for those living with PD. Call us to see how we can support you or your loved one.

Last week, we were lucky to get to host Morning Momentum! 🍳🥐☕ We enjoyed talking about our staff, residents, and loved ones we get the honor of working with every day. We can't thank the Seneca Area Chamber/SDI and local businesses for coming in and hearing about what we do. We love having such an open and big-hearted community that work together and support one another. Thank you for spending the morning with us, and we can't wait to visit with you all again! 👏❤️

🫶 We have been blessed beyond blessed with all the engagement on our page so far this year! Thank you to all of our local communities, families, and staff members who interact with us on our platform.

We try our best to keep you all informed about our events, our activities, and our daily living. We are so very grateful to all of you! We did an in-house drawing for all of our associates who consistently interact on our social media. These have shared, commented, or interacted with almost ALL of our posts since the beginning of 2026. 👍

Thank you ladies for always interacting, and for being such a huge part of our Life Care Family. Women like you are why we get to do the things we do, and do them so well! Congratulations!

What does Occupational Therapy look like❓

It looks like someone practicing how to button a shirt again. 👔 Rebuilding the strength and dexterity to hold a coffee cup. ☕ Rehearsing the motions to prepare a simple meal and learning to use a reacher to safely pick things up without bending 🫳.

During Occupational Therapy Month, we’re celebrating the amazing therapists who help our rehab patients rebuild confidence, independence, and the skills that make daily life meaningful. 🫶

A little time can mean the world. 🌎

April is Volunteer Month, and we are celebrating the amazing people of all ages who share their time with our residents. From calling bingo to painting nails 💅, performing music 🎵 to simply sitting and chatting, our volunteers bring an essential joy and connection to our community.

🌟 When a respiratory disease left Mildred deconditioned, she knew she was going to need rehabilitation to get back home safely, and with the therapy programs at Life Care Center of Seneca, she was able to reach her goals! 👏

Physical and occupational therapies helped Mildred get back on her feet and complete her everyday care tasks on her own once more, and she also benefitted from speech therapy. 💪

Our therapists tried to make her rehab sessions not only effective but also fun! Mildred shared, "I had so much fun with those girls. I just love the games we played... even better when I won." 😉
