I share with a heavy heart that this week our family has lost a true Beacon. My Aunt Betty.

Betty Gaither Henry.

Aunt Betty was far more than a family member. She was a guiding light, a source of strength, wisdom, and unconditional love throughout my life. Throughout MANY lives.

She played an instrumental role in shaping the person I am today, always encouraging me, believing in me, and inspiring me through her grace, generosity, resilience, and kindness. Her presence brought comfort, laughter, and warmth to everyone blessed enough to know her.

While our hearts ache in her absence, I am forever grateful for the memories, lessons, and love she leaves behind.

Aunt Betty’s legacy will continue to live on through all of us whose lives she touched so deeply.

Rest peacefully, Auntie. You will always be loved, honored, and missed beyond words. 🤲🏾 🙏🏾 💫✨💫

Last weekend the Severn Improvement Association wrapped up their 2026 Oral History Workshop Series! It was awesome and a MAJOR success! It’s so exciting to see so much of the community participate in documenting and preserving the Queenstown Community history. This year’s round of oral history interviews are focused on Queenstown Origins & Milesstones.
