Ever heard of biological age?
It’s the idea that your body and cells can be aging faster or slower than your actual age.

Think of it like this: we all know smoking can speed up aging.
But a new study shows that a poor diet can, too—even in your 20s.

🧬 Researchers studied twins aged 20–25 and found:

🥦 Diets high in fruits and veggies = slower biological aging
🍔 Diets high in fast food, red meat, and sugary drinks = faster biological aging

They used something called “epigenetic clocks”—a way to measure cellular aging.
And even after factoring in exercise, weight, and smoking… diet still made a big impact.

✨ This reminds me why our everyday choices matter—not just for how we feel, but as an act of stewardship.

Taking care of your health isn’t about chasing youth or perfection.
It’s about stewarding the gift God gave you—your body—so you can serve well, live well, and show up for the life He’s called you to.

So yes, I’ll keep encouraging more fruits and veggies 😉
Because it’s about so much more than food—it’s about faith-led wellness that lasts.

That 3PM crash?
Not a caffeine problem—your body might just need movement.

Try this instead:
✔️ Walk outside
✔️ Stretch or desk yoga
✔️ 20 squats or jumping jacks
✔️ Stand up for a bit

💛 Movement = better circulation, happier mood, more energy.

Food affects your stress more than you might think.

Blood sugar crashes = cortisol spikes = more stress on your body.

Support your stress response with:

✔️ Protein + fat for breakfast
✔️ Don’t skip meals
✔️ Pair carbs with protein/fiber
✔️ Limit processed foods

🌿 A steady body helps build a steady mind.

Processed foods are designed to be irresistible.
Think chips, fast food, sweets… they’re cheap, convenient, and everywhere.

But they’re also behind so many of the health struggles we see: fatigue, inflammation, blood sugar crashes, and more 😩

👉🏽 A recent study (PMID: 39654611) showed that with the right support, people were able to reduce their intake of processed foods by almost 50% in just 8 weeks—and they felt better, too.

Participants were given:

✔ Education about processed food and its impact
✔ Mindfulness tools to help with cravings
✔ Personalized meal planning
✔ Support to make their home food environment healthier
✔ Financial help to make nourishing choices accessible

The results?

✨ Processed food intake dropped by half
✨ Sugar consumption cut by 50%
✨ Daily calories reduced by 600+
✨ Participants lost an average of 7.7 lbs
✨ Energy and mood improved across the board

💛 This study reflects what we’ve seen over and over again in our practice:
You can break free from the cycle.
You can feel more energized, clear, and grounded.
You can honor your body the way God designed it to function.

Adaptogens help your body handle stress.
They don’t erase it—but they can support your body’s natural ability to stay steady when life gets overwhelming.

Two popular adaptogens you’ve probably heard of:

🌱 Ashwagandha (think calming)
✔ Helps ease stress and anxious feelings
✔ Supports mood and relaxation—great for winding down

🌱 Rhodiola (think energizing)
✔ Supports mental clarity and stamina
✔ Helps the body build resilience—especially helpful in the mornings or during demanding seasons

💛 But here’s the thing:
Quality really matters. Herbal supplements aren’t tightly regulated, and many store-bought brands don’t contain what they claim.

And they’re not for everyone.

⚠️ If you’re on medications or managing certain conditions, always talk with a practitioner who understands both natural and clinical care.

Stress is tricky.
It feels like it’s all in your mind—but your body plays a big part too.

Take blood sugar swings, for example.

💥 When your blood sugar crashes, your body releases cortisol (your main stress hormone) to try and bring it back up.

That can leave you feeling anxious, drained, moody, or wide awake at night—sound familiar?

Here are some simple ways to support blood sugar balance and reduce stress on your body:

✔️ Start your day with protein + healthy fat (not just sugar or coffee)
✔️ Don’t skip meals—it stresses your adrenals and spikes cortisol
✔️ Pair carbs with protein or fiber to slow the spike
✔️ Reduce ultra-processed foods that lead to crashes and cravings

You can’t control every stressor in life—but you can strengthen your body’s resilience.

🌿 When your blood sugar is more stable, your brain feels more calm, your energy steadies, and your body doesn’t have to work so hard to cope.

That’s what it means to nurture well—to support the body the way God designed it.

✨Have you noticed food affecting your stress levels?

Stress often comes from trying to control the uncontrollable.
And as Christian women, we know we’re called to trust God with all the things … but that doesn’t always make it easy. (Can I get an Amen?!)

So the next time stress starts to build, try this 3-step reset:

1️⃣ Notice you’re feeling stressed.
No judgment—just awareness. “God, I’m overwhelmed. Help me name what I’m feeling.”

2️⃣ Ask: Is this in my control?
If the answer is no—breathe. Surrender it to the Lord. And if it is? Take one small step forward.

3️⃣ Make a plan.
Even if the situation is outside your control, there are still things you can do to support your body and mind:

✔ Step outside for a quick walk
✔ Put on worship music
✔ Call someone who lifts your spirit
✔ Jot down a few thoughts or next steps

💛 You’re not failing because you feel stressed.
But you can train your body to respond with grace instead of panic. And the more you practice, the more peace becomes your default.

🌿 Share this with a friend who needs a gentle reminder today.

He is not here, He is risen! It's a crazy story. A sinless man who is the Son of God, killed brutally, who rises from the dead. And yet, because He lives, I can face tomorrow and the next tomorrow and all the tomorrows until He returns and takes me home to live with Him where there is no more sorrow. It's crazy, but it's true. I am a sinful wretch, but He loves me so much that He suffered and died to pay for all the awful things I have done and will do until I am made perfect like Him. It's crazy, but that's what He offers to you too. Enjoy your Peeps and your people today, but take a minute to think about this crazy story and whether or not in your heart you know it's true.

Happy Easter!

Most doctors don’t ask about stress.
Not because it doesn’t matter—but because they often don’t have a way to “treat” it.

I don’t treat stress like a disease either.
Instead, we help your whole body become more resilient to it—just as God designed it to be.

If you suspect stress is affecting your health—but aren’t sure where to start—these questions can help open the door (especially with a practitioner who takes a holistic approach):

1️⃣ Do I need stress hormone testing?
Stress affects cortisol and DHEA—hormones that help you wake up, wind down, and feel steady throughout the day. When they’re off, you may feel “wired but tired,” anxious, or plain worn out.

2️⃣ Could stress be affecting my gut?
There’s a reason the Bible talks about the "gut" so often. The brain and the belly are deeply connected. Stress can mess with digestion, and a sluggish gut can make stress feel even worse.

3️⃣ What nutrients do I need when I’m stressed?
Stress depletes nutrients like magnesium, B vitamins, and vitamin C—ones your body needs to stay calm, focused, and well-rested. Functional nutrition helps you fill those gaps.

4️⃣ Could stress be affecting my hormones?
Yes—absolutely. Stress hormones throw off your other hormones too. That can lead to mood swings, PMS, hot flashes, blood sugar dips, and more.

👉 The truth is: stress is never just in your head.
It shows up in your gut, your hormones, your energy, and your peace.

If you’ve been told “everything looks normal,” but you still don’t feel like yourself… it may be time for a different approach.

💛 I'd love to walk with you.

When stress is high, your nutrient needs are too.
If you’re feeling tired, foggy, or like you’re constantly “pushing through,” your body might be running low on key nutrients it needs to cope.

Here are 3 to pay attention to:

✨ Magnesium
This mineral helps calm your nervous system, supports deep sleep, and eases muscle tension. But stress burns through magnesium fast—which can leave you feeling even more anxious and wired.

✨ B Vitamins
B vitamins support energy, focus, and the creation of stress hormones. Some women feel noticeably better when they start supplementing with high-quality B vitamins—especially when life feels overwhelming.

✨ Vitamin C
Your adrenal glands (which manage your stress response) use vitamin C to do their job. And since your body can’t make it, you have to get it through food or supplements.

So what can you do when stress is running high?

✔ Focus on nutrient-dense meals (simple, real food—as close to the way God made it as possible)
✔ Add supportive supplements when needed (I can help you choose the right ones)
✔ Consider gentle adaptogens like ashwagandha or rhodiola to help calm the body

✨No, supplements won’t “fix” stress. But they can help your body handle it more gracefully.

If you’re ready for a whole-body approach that gets to the root—while honoring the way God designed your body to heal—comment CURIOUS and I’ll share how we can work together 💛
