We are SO THRILLED to introduce you to the newest member of our Yoga Barn team: Whitney Hosein

What first drew you to yoga, and what keeps you coming back to the mat?
✨The sense of stability and connection to center is what first drew me to yoga, and why I will be practising for the rest of this life! It’s not only an opportunity to glimpse the infinite, but to affirm that aspect of the Self.

What’s one thing students can expect to experience in your class?
✨Students can expect to experience wholeness in the form of personalized attention, which results in deeper access to familiar postures in the classes I guide. I focus on alignment as well as the energetics of each asana that invites greater inquiry into how we move and why.

What’s a mantra or quote that inspires your practice or your life?
✨“Take your time” has been my mantra in recent years, both to myself, students, and everyone I encounter. When we move with intention, we are better able to process biofeedback and access the subtle layers of our practice.

We are thrilled to introduce our newest team member: Jenna Kobel

💫 What first drew you to yoga, and what keeps you coming back to the mat?

My mom practiced yoga when I was growing up so that’s what originally drew me to it and when I got to practice it I loved how it would make me feel both mentally and physically. The poses would help me feel graceful, strong, and grateful to be in my body but I also loved the playful aspect of yoga, especially when learning new poses that were more challenging. The relaxation at the end was always something I looked forward to, particularly when there was a guided body scan because it reminded me to check in with every part of my body so that I could fully relax and finish my practice feeling peaceful and at ease. I felt refreshed after a practice so it became something I kept in my life throughout the years.

💫 What’s one lesson yoga continues to teach you off the mat?

One of the greatest things yoga has helped me with off the mat is being more present in my day to day life. It is certainly a constant lesson as I often times get caught up in my thoughts, but over time I have gotten better at noticing when it happens so I can use my tools, like the breath, to bring myself back into my body in the moment.
