โšพ Another amazing Student Athlete Fuel Workshop!

So excited about this new group of high school athletes who joined me on Sunday, March 15th. And let me tell youโ€ฆ these guys towered over me ๐Ÿ˜„

But they came open, curious, and ready to learn how to fuel their performance.

One athlete was so fired up he went home and made the egg bake recipe for the rest of the week! Now that is an athlete showing up fueled and ready to go. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฅš

I canโ€™t say enough about how proud I am of these guys for showing up. Looking forward to celebrating their wins...on the field and in the classroom supported through healthy food!

Back to School: Are You Ready?๏ฟฝ๐Ÿ“š โœ๏ธ ๐ŸŽ ๐ŸšŒ

When my boys were little, back-to-school always came with one guarantee: about a week in, someone got sick. ๐Ÿค’ Runny noses, tummy achesโ€”you name it. Just when we got into a routine, we were back to square one.

Looking back, I wish Iโ€™d known how much sleep, nutrition, and gut health matter for kidsโ€™ immune systems. Here are a few things Iโ€™ve learned (and yes, they work for adults too!):

1๏ธโƒฃ Start the day strong~consistent wake-up time, protein + fiber at breakfast, and even a few minutes of movement.๏ฟฝ2๏ธโƒฃ Protect sleep~kids need more than we think (8โ€“11 hours depending on age).๏ฟฝ3๏ธโƒฃ Hand hygiene~20 seconds with soap, not just a sq**rt of sanitizer. Sanitizer wrecks the good bacteria in your body too so use minimally.๏ฟฝ4๏ธโƒฃ Manage stress~downtime & movement help balance mood and energy.๏ฟฝ5๏ธโƒฃ Hydrate!! Drinking 1/2 your body weight in ounces helps with clarity, focus, energy and immunity!
6๏ธโƒฃSupport the gut~colorful fruits & veggies, protein, and probiotic-rich foods. Up to 80% of the immune system lives in the gut!

And hereโ€™s the part I really wish I knew back then~there are amazing kid-friendly supplements that make a big difference: probiotics, prebiotics, brain-supporting omegas, multivitamins, and even protein that tastes like a milkshake. They fill in the gaps I can't always meet!
