Therapy Solutions For Children

Therapy Solutions For Children www.ots4children.com Some people may think that occupational therapy is only for adults. Children, after all, do not have occupations.

But a child's main job is playing and learning, and an occupational therapist can evaluate a child's skills for play activities, school performance, and activities of daily living and compare them with what is developmentally appropriate for that age group. According to the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), in addition to dealing with an individual's physical well-being, OT practit

ioners address psychological, social, and environmental factors that may hinder an individual's functioning in different ways. This unique approach makes occupational therapy a vital part of health care for many children. Commitment to Practice
As registered and licensed occupational therapists, Rita and her staff are committed to providing the optimum level of quality care while facilitating the highest level of function and learning. Rita and her staff are committed to making a positive difference in every child’s life.

Let's talk about the importance of anti-gravity positions, supine flexion and prone extension! 💪🌈

The ability to maintain and move in and out of antigravity positions is the foundation for strong postural control. Antigravity motor development starts as an infant, as they begin to gain the strength to flex their core and bring their arms and legs to midline (toward their stomachs) when lying on their back. The opposing antigravity position would be tummy time, or positions where extension of the trunk and neck are required (prone extension)!

This chart provides you with the appropriate length of time a child should be able to hold these positions for at their age!

We wanted to share more magical moments from our parents here at TSFC:

“When we first came they went out of their way to transition my son since we had just moved to the area. They made us feel extremely welcome and excited to watch my son grow. My son loves coming here and asks to come almost everyday!”
